Google Adwords Promoting Adult Content

Has there been any recent change to the Google Adwords policy regarding advertising adult content?

It was my understanding only light dating sites could be promoted, and anything that would even remotely could cause sexual arousal would be prohibited.

Their policy can be found here: h t t p s : / / support.google. c o m /adspolicy/answer/6023699

Nevertheless, I'm seeing tons of live cam sites in the paid advertising results. Wouldn't this be considered pornography?

I'm having a hard time interpreting these rules and how plenty of sites seem to get through their approval process. And no, they're not cloaking or anything.

You've been able to promote live cams via Ad Words for a very long time... you just gotta send it to the right lander.

I tried them for a bit - the only change I had to make was to make sure that "18+" was being used in conjunction with every instance the term "teen" appeared.

Google Ads is valuable if you know how to harness its power and use advanced settings.

Your landing page has to be PG-13. No nipples but you can show girls in bikinis and thongs.

Would you be interested in providing me with a private (paid) tutorial on these advanced settings? I have a sexual education site I want to try promoting in 2020 so could use some help navigating Ad Words. :)

Contact me here or I will PM you next week. :)

Update: As others have noted it's indeed possible to promote adult content in their paid advertising results. Just got my Adwords campaign approved.

Landing pages with bare breasts/nipples didn't seem to be an issue for me.

I'm aware that it requires quite a bit of tweaking/testing to make even the smallest profit margins.

But what I have a problem with, is that in many cases even adult KWs with no advertisers, have an unreasonable high first page bid estimate where it's highly unlikely that your EPC will exceed the CPC.

But I'm going to give it a try first before jumping to conclusions. At least I know what I'm getting with search traffic.

I had little to no success media buying on TrafficJunky and Juicy Ads.

I will never understand people spending money on PPC instead of SEO and then enjoying results for long periods instead of only while the campaign is active.

Because one does not exclude the other.

Does the domain have to be SFW or can you use your adult domain?
And are you using this to promote a site that's obviously XXX or something more in the middle?

We've had similar experiences with ad networks. It seems like most people who are successful use them to promote 'free' games, dating, supplements, and perhaps cams. Very rarely have I seen actual paysites promoted on them.

Unless you can live with 5-10% profit margin and spend at scale, you shouldn't bother with AdWords. AdWords is a loss leader for some buyers.

I clicked a dating add and got a massive search engine list of every dating site out there in many ways around. Looked like porn might be around in it too..
