Just checked the prices on bulletproof vests here. They start at $1000. A one for $2000 my stop a bullet from AK47. My question is why people buy them? If I'll shot at someone, I will shot at his face, at his crotch and legs to get him down. How a bulletproof vest for $1000 will help him to stand up? I really don't understand this marketing trick for selling out an absolutely useful shit for that price...

Yes, they are cheaper in the USA, but when I'm talking about $1000 I mean the hidden ones with class 4 defense.

Run 3 miles as fast as you can.

Pick up a pistol and try to shoot a target in the leg or head.

Aim for center mass.

I don't understand it. Nobody can shoot at 3 miles. I can take down a human-sized target from 350 meters with a usual AK47 for 7.62 (even a classic one, not AKM) but from 3 miles... In "Top Gun" movie maybe where every Tom Cruise is Batman :) I know that at war these bulletproof vests do rally work (you always shoot in alpha (a chest) from a long distance), but haven't you read my initial post? I'm talking about the ones for civilians and police. They are made to be used in a very short distance. Maybe 5-10 meters. So I really don't understand why they are so expensive is they are useless IRL...

Its simple. Shooting a target with a hand gun from anything more than 10 meters becomes extremely difficult. Add in an adrenaline rush and forget it.

Have you ever shot at a moving target that can change directions while your heart beats out of your chest? It's not like going to the shooting range.

P.S. He's saying if you run 3 miles, pick up a gun while you're fatigued, and shoot...not shoot a distance of 3 miles

It is not. I was trained to shoot from 25 meters in literally a coin-sized target. Nothing difficult with that. I tell you that many people can do so.

When we were kids, we've shout off a day-lighting system which was about two centimeters in diameter... from a 25 meters range... just for fun of course.

Any armor is better than no armor, most people can't shoot for shit and that includes a lot of police.
Most are trained to shoot center mass. Concealed armored vest can stop most small arms fire but not larger rifle's.
I have a pistol I think would even penetrate those vests, if it didn't it would hurt like hell. They are outlawed for public use in California.

Dude, in the US movies a good guy is always being thrown back after a shot (physics? nobody cares about this shit, lol) and he survives because of his bulletproof vest. Always. Anywhere. At the US TV. IRL he gets a bullet in his face. He lays at the ground and digs the sand with one his hand, which for some unknown reason still moves when he is actually dead. The TV and real life are so different...

No. I'm 100% don't need to buy it because my city is very safe (a murder rate is about same as in Berlin and it can not be even compared with Chicago or even LA). I just like everything about weapons and I was a bit upset when I've checked the prices. I have no problems to buy it for $1000-$2000. I just don't understand why the prices are so high for an actually useless thing.

I've always found that a joint in my top pocket, a friendly smile and asking the question of "Do you want a Joint" has been the best self-defense and weapon, never failed me actually.

I feel safe in LA, some places I stay away from, but I'm tired of it and moving like everyone else that that has gotten tired of the politics. I found a nice property that shares a small lake with two other homes.
