Did you buy traffic or did you grind?
Directing this question to all adult webmasters that are running or was running adult tubes. :thumbsup
|
Buy.
Has its benefits and shortcomings. Benefits are easy split testing, immediate control, and scaling the shit out of profitable campaigns. You can pull a years salary out of a 3 week campaign. Typically paid up front for leads though, meaning I don't do much revshare.. So when I stop spending, profit nears a halt.. but on the flip side you can harvest your own leads ;) But as with anything, investing up front does come with its own risks. Be sure to work with programs directly to avoid any confusion. |
Both + sell traffic
|
I have never bought traffic.
It's like getting laid. You can pay for it, or get it for free. Never pay for something if you can get it for free. |
I'm having a social media, not a tube, but I simply updated my SEO settings and increased my registred users with about 400%.
Listen to the guy above ^ If you can get something for free, don't pay for it ;) |

either can work. for tubes, buying traffic has more limited potential than SE traffic. You're basically limited to trying to convert CJ traffic or get listed on aggregator sites. The amount of traffic is somewhat limited and the profit margins are small.
Think about it, if you get listed on tubegalore, you might buy 10k/month traffic and make 12k back. Well....you just made 2k. Tubegalore made 10k. Wouldn't you rather be tubegalore in this equation? However, buying traffic can be great for SEO, if you know what to do with the traffic you buy. |

After cutting out all unprofitable traffic sources (domains) I had a slightly profitable campaign Exoclick sends an angry email--"all this traffic is bot traffic!" I didn't even realize. My account probably would have been suspended if I hadn't been sending quality SE traffic already for years. You can trust paid traffic if you buy it from premium sites....but its expensive. |
We are new to running a tube, so 95% of traffic is paid. I agree with Diomed.

Unless you have no time and no personnel (to grind) and no personnel and no capital (to buy), why wouldn't you do both?
I wish there were more inched out traffic available to buy. |
I need my new tube listed on anyones tubes. I consider that grinding for traffic..
