Kink.com leak - no commissions for $799 lifetime memberships
 

They randomly show a Lifetime banner with $799 lifetime memberships, also for affiliate traffic.

When the banner is clicked, they overwrite the affiliate ID with their own, so affiliate won't get the commission.

A looooooottttttt of programs do that. There is no reason of being an affiliate anymore. Let them get their own traffic.

Which ones? I promote a big number of programs, regularly check them, and it's like 1% that does this in my experience.

And of course it's no problem if they do this with their own traffic / mailers. If they do it for affiliate traffic, it is a problem.

I saw that on a direct type-in visit but when I visited via my own links, didn't see it, which was the expected behavior. So I didn't pursue it. Never occurred to me that it might be intermittent.

It's especially problematic for those of us who are in this business for the long haul; we'll never have another shot at that lifetime customer. The pool of potential conversions is permanently reduced by one surfer. If the offer were available for affiliate promotion, fair enough. But when it's not...

Did you confront them? It could be a mistaken line of code on the programmer's part.

I can't find anything at XBIZ and similar sources to suggest it's not still owned by Peter Acworth, although since he made so many millions on the Armory sale, he's stepped back from management and hasn't been publicly heard from in 2019. A private (secret) sale is always possible.

My last named contact there (Matt Slusarenko, VP of marketing and business development) is showing as self-employed on LinkedIn as of this month. I've got a query in to [email protected], but in recent years that email hasn't always seemed to be consistently staffed. We'll see.

Good to hear! I will fall back to that if I don't get any action out of the affiliate address. I've been promoting this product since 2002, and in 18 years there's been a lot of ups and downs and burps and hiccoughs. But that kind of deep history has taught me that it's fine to spend a few days trying the "right" channel before I start working the other angles. My usual rule is a second email after three days and then I start trying every email I've got that seems hopeful after another three days.

They responded really fast to me regarding this issue, here is the answer:

At present, we do not foresee any changes being made to the current promotion as this is soon to be removed from our product options and there are no plans in place to continue the promotion after it has ended.

We recognize your interest in offering this once in a lifetime opportunity to your site traffic and understand your frustration regarding the affiliate click-through link presenting this purchase option, however we hope you will understand that our business plan to develop the Lifetime Membership did not include the potential payments that would be incurred by us to allow for affiliates to sell the product and thus we are unable to grant our affiliates license to sell this product. To wit, not every product we create is available for each and every affiliate to advertise on our website nor do we imply this in our Terms of Service agreement.

Please feel free to reach out if you have any further questions or concerns and thank you for being a member of the Kink community.

The cookie will also be valid for all other sales .... once a surfer clicks on that link affiliate doesn't even get paid for a monthly sale.

Just keep on checking their sites and links and you will find them. Many do also overwrite cookies inside the member section to rob rebills and upsales. The affiliate is like a fish without water ....

If they were showing that offer to affiliate referrals then that's not good enough...

We received the same response, so its their standard response to this issue. We replied that is all very well, but then it should not appear on affiliate tours, and they responded back saying : Thanks for the feedback.

Kink has been full of leaks since they started, they're have been offering different site options and specials and promos and linking the surfer to different sites for over a decade now.

Another perfect example of "if you are happy with your income, stay, if you are not, leave."

Yeah that's pretty much the play with any affiliate program

Do I think chaturbate is shaving? yes

do I think they let models/studios cheat to steal my commissions? yes

but am I happy with my income? yes

so do I continue to promote them? yes

If you're an experienced webmaster, better not promote programs like this. Not worth the effort, and they will try to apply more sneaky tricks, they're discovered in the theft and don't care is a fuck you at your face, you will get fucked big $$, they can spend their own money to get the traffic and sales/conversions. :2 cents:
