What's the deal with PMV's (Porn Music Videos)
 

Hello all,

Was wondering if anyone had some info as to how these PMV's work on the major tube sites.

Is there anyway to protect your content from being used in one? I see a ton of them out there and they are all made by no name channels, obviously "fans" not studios, and they've been up for years and are using clips and scenes that they obviously do not have rights to use.

Is it perfectly legal to grab clips, pile them all together with some music and re-upload it as your own?

Where is the line drawn on this in regards to sending DMCA notices for content theft VS "fair use". Is this considered fair use?

If you went and downloaded a BangBro's scene and re-uploaded it, obviously you're going to get DMCA'd, but it seems like it's perfectly fine for people to grab a few clips from a scene, include it in a PMV with some other clips, add music, upload it, and be perfectly fine?

If anyone has some insight it would be appreciated.

That's pretty clear cut case of "fair use"... but I've still seen some of the bro DMCA companies try to DMCA it.

And in my opinion, if you're worried about something like this as a content owner, you've got a lot of other problems preventing you from growth.

I wasn't particularly worried about it, just curious. Thanks for the insight :)
