Wow - Just Fucking Wow - This Is Not Good For Us At All...

https://www.bbc.com/news/stories-51391981

You just have to read this - Read the whole article - It will make you sick - PornHub gets the biggest beating but the whole industry looks like scum...

How many of us use PH feeds and had this on OUR sites? - Some of us download the videos and host them ourselves (I never did thank god) - Some may STILL have them on our sites - Did any of us review the 1000's of vids we used (use)?....

I am slowly pushing my way back into the industry - I for one am seriously rethinking the way I do things :(...

the indian stuff being uploaded to twitter etc is even more fucked up

I donīt feel this shames the porn business, certainly the few people that care nothing for anyone, and so it should.

More directed to tube sites then porn industry as whole - that is why accepting user upload without any verification is bad.

It says a lot about PornHub that they were told that she was 14 and it was rape and ignored it - Then when she pretended to be a lawyer it was taken down straight away - Does that mean they didn't care it was 14 year old until legal action was threatened?..

The problem is the general public see PornHub etc as 'The Porn Industry'...

Well, that is one of things what need to be done anyway - to dissociate porn hub with adult industry.

More likely how they ignored everything what was not formatted in DMCA format , but it seems they stopped with that practice in order to avoid cases like this again.

What's the point of this article?

Someone uploaded illegal content on PornHub and PornHub did nothing with claims of the victims ? That's bad. They should hire more moderators and support staff then.
or
Someone could post sex video with yourself on some pornsites? So what? It's a real life. Shit happens.

p.s.: rape irl is a serious crime and really bad thing. All the best wishes to the victims.

Phh... All these tube sites have no control over their content. They don't follow 18 U.S. Code § 2257. So what do you expect?

I'll tell you more. Literally 3 or 4 days ago I was walking through tube sites in search for XML feeds, and I've got a popup with a cp site. And that was not a darknet site etc. That was a regular .com site. They were selling videos via a filelocker. I haven't downloaded them of course but I've seen the preview screenlists. The site was reported and now it's gone (that was quick). But I don't know how many such sites are still online and how tube owners must be desperate to earn on such pop-ups. So when the legal adult is dead (it can't be monetized IMHO), the illegal shit literally pops up in the net.

P.S. Yet another example. Was zoo easily available about 10 years ago? Now Google shows it in SERP's left and right. It's not a crime in my country, but in the USA it's barely legal. Just for a note: Google is the US-based company... Sometimes ago fake rape videos were banned by all billing companies. Now kink sells them openly.

Sorry, I'm not really into porn as a viewer (too old for that), but I'm just curious which exactly Indians you guys are talking about. Those who live in India or native American ones (fuckin' English)?

OMG this is definitely disturbing!!

Tube sites could win more webmaster support if they made it so only those approved (Content Partners) could upload clips longer than X minutes and also be indexed.

They can keep their safe harbor status by still allowing anyone to upload, but all uploads by unapproved users would not be indexed. Of course this will never happen though.

It's terrible :( ...no one should live through this. What horrified me the most was everyone who shamed her afterwards, saying she apparently asked for it. Society needs a serious wake-up call.

Now, not sure if this article shames the whole industry but it's true that the general population looks at PornHub like it's a "good" representation of the porn world and that's sad. Without pointing any fingers because we all lived through it but how many of us uses Pornhub to promote and increase our traffic? maybe even promote their videos in our blogs and enjoy the funny post their super cute social media rep. keeps posting. In some ways, we're all guilty of putting them on a pedestal even we all know how much we've all been cornered by their aggressive past tactics.

Since we're pretty far gone the rabbit hole, I'm not sure what could be done to help a possible disassociation and education of the population towards this issue. We can just keep doing our best, sell a good product, be grateful for our customers and play the game we're stuck in.
