ePayments account RIP?

and Here we go again

Quote:

URGENT: Information about your ePayments account

Dear XXXXXXX,
Your account XXXXXXXXX
We write to inform you that in accordance with paragraph 12.1 (j) of our standard terms and conditions, we have unfortunately taken the hard decision to suspend activity on customer accounts, effective from today. During the course of this suspension customers will be unable to transfer, deal, withdraw or deposit funds and will be unable to use their ePayments cards.
Following a review by the Financial Conduct Authority ('FCA') of ePayments Systems Limited's ('ePayments') anti-money laundering systems and controls, a number of weaknesses have been identified which require urgent remediation to ensure that our customers can enjoy a safe and secure platform.
Following discussions with the FCA, ePayments has agreed to suspend activity on customer accounts until remedial action has been undertaken to the satisfaction of the FCA.
We know this will be a very frustrating time for our customers. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and are working tirelessly with the FCA to ensure improvements are made and accounts can be reactivated as soon as possible.
During this improvement process, we want to assure customers that their funds are being safeguarded as normal.

Received the same email. not looking good.

Klen 02-11-2020 12:34 PM

I received e-mail from advidi suspending payments to it.

xxx6live 02-11-2020 12:42 PM

Shit... it was too good to be true.

Using (used) it for the Chaturbate earnings, worked like a charm.
Managed to spend most of it, only have $117 there now, but this sucks.

Hello!

Currently, all operations are restricted. We are in the process of urgently addressing the weaknesses in our anti-money laundering systems and controls and our plan is to keep you up to date with our progress.

We wish to assure you that all of your funds are safeguarded as normal and are not affected by the work we are currently undertaking. As soon as we have completed the required improvements and can grant access to funds, we will let you know.

NALEM 02-11-2020 01:49 PM

What Orinta aka ePayments needs to do, is post the actual government/institution order which they claim forced them to suspend processing of money until XYZ conditions have been satisfied.

Ouch! Hope they resolve things and get you your funds Lykos.

digitalfantasies 02-11-2020 02:52 PM

Ik keep my accounts as empty as possible because of shit like this, still today was payday and had received 5K on epayments. luckily they are "safeguarding" our money they say. LOL

HairyChick 02-11-2020 05:59 PM

Youch. They can’t pay y’all whilst under investigation. What if the funds are seized?

I read a complaint last night about no competition for PayPal. Adult site owners need their own merchant account. I had one and kept it though I had to go to court as they changed terms without notice and took ten grand for the application fees. I’d already paid two grand per my contract and they saw earnings and decided to keep some.

They repaid three thousand dollars in attorney fees too.

A smart company would be wise to take advantage of the lack that processing services

Shit, that's gotta hurt - Let's hope this is genuine and it is really an investigation causing the issues and they have not gone tits up - It might turn out that people like you will have prove the source of funds in the account - I don't think they will launch a full investigation into my $2.70...

Holy Damage 02-11-2020 07:14 PM

It seems ironic, right? :1orglaugh

UK’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA)?

The question to ask: what deficiencies need to be cured, and how much time does EPayment need to resolve them.

It would be better if they post the Notice online for their clients to see.

Maybe contact FCA directly? They do seem to have an active license:

https://register.fca.org.uk/ShPo_FirmDetailsPage?id=001b000000m4IXgAAM

They can't just hold people's money hostage without telling the exact issue that was found and a time frame of how long they expect it to take to fix it.

If you look on that page I think this is the important bit - Under 'Requirements':

Quote:

Institution to refrain from AIS or PIS for an indefinite period

Must comply with the requirements in regulation 78A(2)(b)of the Electronic Money Regulations 2011 to refrain from providing account information services or payment initiation services for an indefinite period
I could be wrong, but I think they are telling the truth about being blocked. However, if you google it, it seems that it's done when a company goes tits up - It's pure supposition on my part based on what I have read so Caveat Emptor!..

They will likely demand that all users provide copies of multiple legal documents that prove their identities.

digitalfantasies 02-11-2020 10:21 PM

Yep, when I google there are numerous epayment-related companies that had their "user accounts" under same regulation, and I cant find a single one that survived. Bye bye 5K
50K on epassporte 20K on firstchoicepay 5K on epayments. 2021 I'm aiming to lose 2 K on epayservices.com Im a slow learner

2 checks from epayservice.com aka epayservices.com aka MTACC aka Guerra Capital, LLC bounced last year. Do a search and you'll find multiple negative threads on GFY about them.

ePayments.com is not the same as ePayServices.com they are different companies.

ePayServices.com is still operating

ePayments.com is suspended 'indefinitely'

jscott 02-12-2020 01:25 AM

god this sucks, if nobody sees the trend here
epassporte, epayments no usa & now this, paxum/payoneer blocking usa, payoneer probs with firstchoicepay, etc etc, way to send money without regulators up ppls ass is unfair, sending money without permissions from borders & profit makers, cant you see this is bullshit? BTC fixes the hell outta this bullshit system.

,,, fuck Lykos man, that REALLY sucks :( :( :(

Tjeezers 02-12-2020 01:39 AM

Bet it had nothing to do with people topping their account with cards that were not verified.

Kafka 02-12-2020 02:05 AM

Pay in BTC. You never have any problems with the authorities.

I didn't say the two companies were related. I replied and quoted digitalfantasies who said he was anticipating a problem with epayservices later.

1080cams 02-12-2020 03:16 AM

epassporte again?

ZackBasil 02-12-2020 03:20 AM

It seems they've got KYC problems and the main issue could be to BTC-cc withdrawal.

Hope they'll get back the license. ePayments has been pretty good for the last 6 years.

Ok yeah, all these money services always have problems, losing check issuers, losing card providers, losing bank accounts, etc. Some of them keep scrambling and manage to keep finding new solutions and stay in business, most don't. Eventually none of them will last, as these kind of services are just not viable anymore in today's banking landscape.

djroof 02-12-2020 08:19 AM

yep, same e-mail... also Onlyfans and Chaturbate informs to change the payment option

Problem is the affiliate companies would have to buy bitcoin first to be able to pay with BTC. Some exchanges allow corporate accounts, but the problem is most banks won't allow transfers there. If you have a corporate account with any solid first world bank and start transferring huge amounts to bitcoin exchanges every 2 weeks to pay affiliates they will close your corporate bank account.

Depending which country - i heard only US banks causing troubles mostly for BTC users, while europe banks are more relaxed. I even saw some banks offering BTC investing.

even more the reason bitcoin is THE option. if you realize you cant use your own money the way you choose.... bitcoin is the answer. And finding a way to make use of it is only going to improve in future.
