Free Content Creation Tool

Hello GFY!

My name is Robert and I work for a content creation site called Kapwing.com

We are a free video/photo editing app that works in any browser. Kapwing is perfect for creating GIFs, short videos for social media, collages, adding subtitles to video, resizing video for different platforms and so much more. We do all of this with no watermark on your final video as long as you log in! Please give the site a try and let me know what you think.

We primarily serve mainstream content creators, but I've noticed an uptick in adult creators using our site lately and wanted to share it with all of you after getting tipped off about this forum from a great contact in the industry. We're always looking for new ways to serve content creators and I'd love to understand more about what you're looking for in a content creation tool.

Cheers!

Reading your post and visiting your site...." all is a way over my head" . So here are my 2 questions:

1) can you take a professional DVD and convert it to HD ( and have a decent quality)?
2) can you take ( at the same time) 4:3 format and convert to 16:9 ?

any info would be appreciated ( from any one) :thumbsup

Hey Celandina!

To answer your questions:

1) Kapwing can edit assets and media you already have saved on your PC, but it does not work with media that is stored on physical media like CDs or DVDs. You would have to rip those files elsewhere and then upload them into Kapwing to work with them.

2) Yes! You can use Kapwing's resizer tool to convert 4:3 media to 16:9!

We can't do anything like that, no. The software is primarily for editing video and adding new elements like text, animations, or shapes.

I have been using this for doing bits and pieces for a few weeks - Not bad at all...

They have a neat txt effect that's good for attracting attention to watermarks.....

You could make a decent money if you were not only a softawre merchant BUT also a quasi lab...

I have about 20 mainstream action movies I have shot in the 90ties. Doing a lot of streaming deals now BUT many want 16:9 and HD.....

...so, as a lab I would send you the DVDs ( the 35 mm A and B rolls are long gone) you rip them, convert them , upload them back etc.... and get paid. I think more business for you that way....:thumbsup

FYI : There are dozens of various free and cheap software available but to me ( and to many others) they all end up the same way: Many of us are not geeks ... I am able to rip panties from some cutie but not rip a DVD..:1orglaugh

Hi Eddy!

So glad you hear you're already using Kapwing! What kind of projects has it been most useful for so far? Really like your tip about the animated text for watermarks

Hey again! Apologies for the late response. We don't really work with physical media as our site is a digital content creation tool, but once you have those files converted from old VHS/DVDs I think you may be able to do some interesting stuff to that video with our site!

If you do not mind.... how do you make that work? Do you upsize and crop? How do you get information for 16:9 if it's not there? Just curious. Thanks :thumbsup

Exactly - we would upsize and then crop using either our studio or resizer tool!
