Starting sites with cheaper gTLDs
Hey folks :)
I was going to start some new sites but since I have only used .com I was wondering if I bought cheaper extensions like .live .xyz .online instead of a .com would it effect SEO that much for smaller sites, tubes, blogs etc? I always use .com but if it doesn't matter that much and could save some money I would add some cheaper gtlds for seo traffic. Thanks for the help :pimp |
Google says it doesn't matter, whethere to believe that or not who knows. The click through rate on a xyx domain however will be lower as visitors don't trust them as much as com. I would stick with com personally or net if its decent domain.

Good to know. I probably will throw in a few cheaper GTLds to try.

Double check .xyz. I thought G stopped ranking them as much because of all of the spam. I could be wrong, though.
gTLDs are "supposed" to be the same in terms of SEO, but.. .wang could be fun, too. :upsidedow |
Lol @ .wang. My friend in high school his last night was Wang maybe I can sell his name to him :)
I found a good name for .online fun to play with. .adult .porn .sex I'm going to stay away from those although free.porn would be nice. Wonder how many type-ins that gets. |
