Would 43 mins be long enough for a flight change - In from LAX out to LHR?....

They are offering it as a valid route and both flights with American - It doesn't seem long enough but I don't know the airport.....

If they are both American Airlines they should be in the same Terminal. JFK is pretty big but that should be enough time to catch your connecting flight.

This, of course, assumes no delays, weather, issues with landing, having to circle, etc etc. :)

I have never done it this way round before and for some reason it makes me more nervous than going via Asia - I really don't want to go that route this time though for obvious reasons...

It might be a chance to have a few days in NY - I have never been to the US and have been talking about it for ever - It would solve the timing issue as well - Too many things to think about!....

If you can book it on 1 PNR (booking ref) they will meet you at the incoming plane and escort you fast track to the departing.

But you have no window if the incoming flight is delayed too much, so I would prob avoid that connection.

i think the answer is maybe.. what time of day is the transfer? Security will be your major concern in terms of time spent, but AA is only in one terminal. Don't forget you will have tail wind as well, so you're gonna be getting there early if plane leaves on time

You're wrong. The connecting flights will be in different terminals. LAX to JFK is domestic. JFK to LHR is international.

If you're flying within the US with only a carry-on it might be enough, but honestly, I do my very best to avoid that airport - had nothing but delays and issues flying through it. If I get there on time, make my next flight and have my luggage once, I'll be surprised.

I'm pretty sure that if I go this route I will stop in NY for a day or two, it seems easier and I am not built for running around airports the way I used to - I will already have been traveling over 24 hours by the time I get there so will need a break...

I just hope CV19 doesn't fuck it up - It's not every day your 72 year old mother gets married!....

Your flight will be boarding while your other one is taxiing.

I always get 2 hour layovers. I don't like wasting the 2 hours, but it's better than risking a missed flight. Especially these giant airports. O'Hare? Forget about it.

I have been thinking about it and everything would have to align perfectly - The chances of that are slim - Especially with my luck - The last I was meant to go to the US I got shingles a few days before I was due to leave - That was to go to the GayVN show in San Francisco all bought and paid for - Total bummer...

The last time I had a 45 minute connection layover it was at O'Hare. I could see the terminal I needed to be at but it was a half mile run to get there.

Buddy was in the luggage area; he made it to LA 5 hours before me because he made his connection.

If correct, you don´t go to arrivals, the landing area where you get customs and security, if you go the right way, you don´t have to recheckin and all that stuff, you head to the transfers lounge...

if correct, this is in every airport or those that offer transfers of course....

you´ll head straight into departure and not need to go through security again, so you will always catch your flight...

boarding takes half hour, if they know a passenger is in the airport, they won´t leave, especially if it´s a transfer flight booked from the agents :2 cents:

btw, plenty of LAX to LHR flights with and without stops, of course, the straight over, all seam to be about 500quid, but for like 200, you can stop at OSL.

It would actually be better to fly into Gatwick if I have to go on to Alicante - It depends on what this CV19 thing does.....
