Local Reaction To Coronavirus

School districts are closing schools for the year to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus. My mom will be 85 in less than three weeks and went to Target and Walmart yesterday. She said both stores were sold out of toilet paper, paper towels, hand sanitizer and many canned goods. She already had a big supply of toilet paper as we always kept a huge stock. She tried Stop & Shop and Shaw’s Supermarkets but they had no toilet paper either. Each store claimed that new stock was due in. Walmart manager said that they got one hundred cases that morning and all were sold quickly. He admitted when asked that he bought ten cases for himself.

I’m wondering if manufacturers are hiring help and increasing production of the paper goods. Will toilet paper see a huge price increase like hand sanitizer?

With news hourly about the pandemic and people panicking about it, what’s next to come for us?

Closing school for the year tho?

I live outside of Sacramento, California. We had one death in the next town over. My daughter's college has been shut down until further notice.

I've heard about TP shortages, including our local Target running out. I was in Home Depot this morning and saw some so I snatched some up.

Yes. Just like New York is doing in several school systems. I clicked the link to quote it and it’s gone. Replaced with a story about UMass Dartmouth closing. I’m wondering if someone wrote a misinformed article about the location or they changed their mind.

The news showed many cities and towns closing school for the year. Online school is good but for younger kids. If the parent or parents work and can’t afford a babysitter, people will do popup home care centers at home. Viruses will spread fast and then you’ll have sick kids needing to stay home.

In theory the closings are a good idea....

I’ll be clicking the link to check if it updates. Google isn’t helping me yet
