Yesterday the wife and I took our two dogs for a walk around the tourist area of Niagara Falls (Clifton Hill).

It felt like an apocalypse movie.

Actually I'm somewhat surprised that they have actually left the falls going...

I understand the shutting down of the business around it, in order to make it less attractive to tourists, but I feel they really should go all the way and switch the falls off completely, thus eliminating ANY reason for people to gather there... :2 cents:

I know the joke you are making but that made me think of NYC. The whole town is shut down and times square is empty of people but why are the big ad boards still on?

No not a joke - The CAN actually turn off Niagara Falls:

They have to keep the falls going...they don't want to inconvenience suicidal people.
