What are the changes? Are we talking about changes for 'acceptable words'? I know C4S changed policies recently, but other than that, I have not heard much else.

Don't do trials and you're just fine.

I have to fully digest it first. But it really favors the coomer and not the merchant

It's funny but for some (like myself) trials do not work well. I may explore this again as it has been a couple years since I tried.

But yeah, if 70% of your income is trials then don't touch them trials! :)

Agreed. We tested them and still use them, but only for certain types of lower quality traffic. This is working out for us well. It takes a lot of A/B testing to find price points that work for your userbase and know what to show to who.

If you do trials longer than 7 days you need to email the customer a week before he is rebilled with a direct link to cancel.

If you offer free trials / introduction offers you need to add the word 'trial' to the descriptor of the first monetary transaction after the trial.

There is also some extra stuff that needs to be added in the signup confirmation mail, like more details about when the rebill will place etc and a copy of the terms they agreed to

Thanks for the link. Shouldn't be too hard for the average person to remain compliant...

I'm personally not sure how I'm going to fit the word "trial" beside my domain and phone number :upsidedow

What I meant is that if you don't offer trials, its business as normal.
If you do offer trials, then there is extra work to do on your end in terms of contacting customers within the trial period and changing/adding text on your join pages.

mce 04-01-2020 12:05 AM

Yep. Another change in business models is required. Adaptation

That’s easy, plus nats or the gateway can shoot out an email. It shouldn’t be too hard.

Not at all. In the end it will probably help some things.

Yeah I don't think many adult sites have real free trials or introductory offers, or trials that are longer than 7 days.

It's more for stuff like this:
