The age old debate. Which is King? Traffic or Content

I have always said traffic is king. The current situation supports that.

Because everybody stole the content.

Kings don't get their asses stolen.

inb4 "traffic is king, content is queen" :Oh crap

I can make all the money with old content, saturated content, low quality content, or even a blank page.

A select few can create content so good it will generate its own traffic. For most people that isn't practical, especially on an internet marketing forum.

Yes, we know "you need content to have a site" and "you need visitors to make money from your content", this debate is not about that ridiculous argument of whether or not a product should exist.

EddyTheDog 04-01-2020 05:59 PM

Traffic - With enough traffic you can sell anything - You could have exclusive video of the Queen pegging Trump but if nobody see's it you wont make a cent...

Rochard 04-01-2020 07:58 PM

Which is king? Traffic or content? Neither.

Email is king.

You can have the best content in the world, but without traffic no one would ever see it and no one would be able to buy it. With traffic, great, you send someone to a website once and hope they convert.

However, with email.... you can send them link after link after link, creating traffic on the way. You narrow it down and give them exactly what they want.

I had an hour long conferece call with a domintrix today.. She's got it all figured it out....

A customer signs up to her "main list" and automatically they get an email with six photos which are links. This starts to narrow down exactly what the customer is into. Customer clicks on the first link, a man licking her boot, and boom - he gets added to a sub list called "boot licking". Every week this potential customer will get an email from the main list, and then a few days later an email from the sub list with speclized content the customer is interested in. They will keep getting email every week until they do become a customer, and when they do... They get moved to a new list called "paid customers". This weekly email sends them to other related sites.... They stay on this list for a year and then a trigger moves them back to the main list, and the process starts all over again with new content.

Once everything is set up, all she does is create a new email once a week. Pepole stay on the list until they become a customer, and then she tries to sell them on something else - all automatically.

Content brings traffic.

Klen 04-02-2020 02:09 AM

As i said before, depending on which role you have.

If you are webmaster, you can redirect traffic to ad network and make clean cash without worrying about content.

If you are media buyer, then content is highly important - when i get new offers, first thing what i do i checking quality of their landing pages, so if no good, i dont test it as i know it wont work.

True that, because: traffic -> good content -> additional traffic

freecartoonporn 04-02-2020 03:25 AM

off-course traffic is king,
but traffic is not stupid, it looks for fresh/quality content.

Paul Markham 04-02-2020 07:13 AM

It depends on what you're business is.

Ask why is pornhub getting so much traffic and the answer is they have the best content the surfer wants and keeps coming back for more.

Ask an affiliate who has a poor site and needs to keep getting fresh visitors and he will say traffic.

All the arguments in the world boil down to who can keep returning traffic, convert it and keep it.

For instance, do visitors keep coming to GFY because of the content or because of finding for new every time?

I fully believe in what I do. A single email address is a constant stream of traffic. You can hammer that email address every day until they unsubscribe.... Constant traffic.

And what are you selling, blank pages?

For you personally do you go for any old site to promote or the ones with the very best content on offer? Do conversion ratios mean nothing or a lot to you?

This debate comes down to some very key factors.

Do you select the sites you promote?

Do you watch closely for trends and favourites in what people buy?

Do you keep a constant check on how sites you promote perform?

Do you want fresh content or a site to get more traffic to help you promote?

Do you want to get paid?

Can you drive traffic to any site you choose?

Now answer what makes one site better than others and easier for you to promote.

What's the answer?

There will always be traffic. Until men stop jerking off to porn they are stuck with sourcing it. The question is what one matters the most to you?

So do you send your traffic to any site because everything converts, pay, retain the best or do you send it to the sites that convert, pay, retain the best?

Affiliates have traffic that's a given as it's their job. When they stop carefully selecting where to send it their traffic becomes the best.

If they use the argument that they can get any old content to promote a site they're exaggerating, lying or foolish. Because the best content attracts the best affiliates, traffic and send it to the sites with the best tours/content because it converts and pays the best.

Traffic is peanut butter.
Content is jelly.

You may prefer one over the other but you need both to make a sandwich.

Yes Sir, it is always up to the end user as always!! :2 cents:

It is not up to us but to what "THEY" want" AT THIS MOMENT IN TIME" it changes, just look at your Stats!

If you're promoting, marketing, creating etc and relying on stats to tell you about what sells. You really do need as much traffic as possible. Because you don't understand your product or buyers.

He is correct in that you do not 'need' content to generate traffic (tho I say words and links constitute "content" of a sort). You can earn coin scraping the bottom of the barrel, or you can make dough by filling the barrel, or you can make money building barrels.

The possibilities for online revenue are virtually endless. So the only real "King" here is one's own cleverness, motivation and skills.

For the individual, you're spot on. However, in 2020 the possibility of making much money in adult with bad, poor content or traffic is low.

Today we need great content and traffic to cover the costs of running a business and paying for our time.

So can you show me the sites with the old, saturated content, low-quality content, or even a blank page that outperform your sites with new, exclusive content, high-quality content and pages filled with keywords that don't make money?

The reasons you state for traffic being king only applies to people who can't afford or don't know better.

Good or better content, followed by traffic via marketing skills.

The internet is flooded with content of all sorts, adult even more so. Traffic always exists, content always exists so the question is which one gets first place and which one gets a close second?

Who here has bad traffic that would buy or sign up for free if the content is good enough?

Who here has good traffic that would buy or sign up for free if the content is good enough?

Who here has bad traffic that would buy or sign up for free if the content is rubbish?

The top sites are looking for bookmakers or return visits.

Look around at the top paysites in all categories, are they top because they are where everyone else is going or because they meet the needs of billions?
