increasing & monetising twitter users

So I am looking to buildup my twitter following
Niche : Adult - Promoter of verified content and sellers

As of now I have a handful of followers and really limited interactivity.
But, since I am looking to get around 5k - 10k followers I was wondering what can be the possible sources to increase followers and also what can be the monetization techniques
(except for earning commission on sale of content)

Did you try putting smartlinks on it? CrakRevenue has them and they might work well with your traffic.
