Looks like Amazon will eventually get rid of its Affiliate Program

After all, Amazon got huge already (thanks partly to affiliate sweat) so it's probably only a matter of time until Jeff Bezos says "See ya, btiches!"

Click for Proof

Worst of all, this is yet another kick in the teeth of large media verticals who are already laying off/furloughing staff

:(:(:(

Corona made them even fatter, soon you will even have to pay them as affiliate. :)

Everytime I plan to buy smth more expensive I buy it from other shops or at least ebay.

HairyChick 04-14-2020 06:41 PM

I saw that earlier after spending two weeks getting links daily

3% isn’t much but many mainstream affiliate programs offer that with a small amount of merchandise to sell.

1% for some products is asinine

Forest 04-14-2020 06:51 PM

Rakuten has cut them from the home page and no longer pays on purchases.

Im just waiting for them to do the same on the UK version

celandina 04-15-2020 08:45 AM

Greedy motherfuckers. They don't even want to approve my affiliate account

mce 04-15-2020 03:24 PM

Get big off affiliate sweat then cut them off at the knees....

What a 'recipe for success'

ianmoone332000 04-15-2020 03:45 PM

Leaves a massive space in the market if another company wants to get serious about competing with them over the next few years. Imagine the amount of links that point to Amazon disappearing over the next few weeks

alibaba/aliexpress is an alternative, if one can stand the shipping times. Amazon urgently needs competition.

BaldBastard 04-16-2020 09:27 AM

The traffic I send to Amazon converts at 1 in 7, If someone is looking for something, and you can push them to an Amazon sales page for that product a sale is almost assured.

branding and name recognition like no other.

For those interested in capitalizing on this. https://gfy.com/fucking-around-and-b...portunity.html

I had two packages of merchandise shipped Monday from my supplier in Guangdong via DHL. It was delivered to me in NY, Thursday morning by 11am. Sure, it almost doubled the per unit cost of my product...but the 1000% markup I get on them after paying double the cost is enough to make that irrelevant. You can get stuff here fast, if you're willing to pay a few bucks for it.

ePacket via AliExpress, I've gotten stuff in a week. It's not 1 day or same day, but consider it's coming from the other side of the world and it's not a bad deal.

How things will unfold when all this Corona crap clears up remains to be seen. I'm trying to find someone to make my product in Vietnam and India as of today.
