What is your strategy to deal with stress?

Between trying not to die or kill others with this virus and the economy shut down, what's your strategy for dealing with increased stress and anxiety?

RyuLion 04-15-2020 02:14 PM

At Home: Exercise, hobbies, online entertainment, work from home, do what you like doing, something that's productive yet enjoyable to you.

Bond with other positive friends and loved ones.

Limit watching the news, limit social media friends that tend to be negative, and full of stressful posts (put them on a 30 day snooze)

I Self Soil to Sooth myself

Well it used to be getting LAID.

But right about now I am even sick of Rosy Palm and her five sisters.
I'm so horny the crack of dawn looks good. :disgust

Rochard 04-15-2020 02:33 PM

Masturbation. Thrice daily.

Rochard 04-15-2020 02:36 PM

All kidding aside, I posted about this earlier this morning. A few months ago we got a puppy. I've been walking him two or three times a day. I find it very relaxing.

https://content.screencast.com/users...04-15_1434.png

I also cycle as much as I can, which is usually daily.

Otherwise, I am considering this a "staycation". I am getting more sleep than normal which is nice.

Learning to master JavaScript. It's a really useful skill. Backend programming with node, API creation etc.

Great advice. I love your strategies. Especially having positive people to spend time with. Thanks for sharing.

Great dog you got there. Dogs are terrific, love wrapped up in fur. And walking is also good therapy, getting some fresh air and out of the house helps a lot.

Hey its great that you're able to upskill while you're in lockdown mode.

JoeS 04-15-2020 03:34 PM

I find creative writing to be a great way to deal with stress and anxiety.
Also sometimes just taking five or ten long slow deep breaths where I close my eyes and put my attention on each breath in and out helps a lot. #Mindfulness

I meditate while sitting on my precious toilet ... :stoned

Your welcome.

My strategies are from experience, not just because of the present situations.

Yes Sir. dive into enhancing on your knowledge, it'll also make you stronger. :2 cents:

Meditation is key!

Wear a noise canceling headset or better yet listen to it in your closet, and breath normally. :)
(turn off all other notifications, make sure the headset is not on too tight)

(adopting your favorite pet and bonding with it also helps.)

Have a good night! :)

Hmm... I love my wife. So I'm doing what we've mostly done. Do I miss movies? Sure. But there is plenty to watch on the TV now. Do I miss going out to eat? Sure. But we both have a knack for cooking so it ain't no big thing.

Kind of liking it to be honest.

Thanks for sharing your stress coping strategies!

Thanks RyuLion for the relaxation video.

In 96 when I got into this business and in the following years I thought happiness and satisfaction was making more money, buying more things, going to more 5 star hotels and big parties conventions etc.

I built tgp galleries & reviewed them for sites like Adult Buffet and others. I built my own TGPs and top list sites (things long gone and forgotten now no doubt), and worked so many hours my health deteriorated and I spent basically no time with my family anymore.

My dad called me one night saying he just wanted to talk and see how I was. I was working on my sites and said I was busy. I remember that because shortly after that time my dad suddenly died of a heart attack. And I'd give every penny I made in this business for another chance to talk with him, see him, fish with him, or hug him.

Now I'm much much older and doing other things but I have learned to be mindful of how precious life is and what really matters. It's family, it's friends, it's peace of mind and meaningful work.

Now I enjoy writing courses and books about living a happier more peaceful life and sharing what I have learned with others. I skype with my 90 year old mother daily to tell her how much I appreciate and love her. I try to live a more balanced life.

So in this time of fear and sickness, while the economy is in turmoil and we are all forced to take a break, I hope that many of us can take a step back and remember what's really important to us. Hope you and your loved ones all stay well. And your business and life is healthy and prosperous.

Joe

Where would be able to find you outside of gfy? Social media? I’m close to a transition as well, one where I slow down from the bullshit and try to work more from home, closer to family, etc...

RedShoe 04-19-2020 04:03 PM

Grow weed. It’s been a nice relaxing hobby... trying to turn it into a small stream of income but looking for help has been, slow.

@BonsHigh (Bonsai... bons high) on IG.

Bonsai weed plants.

Yes, there's all day saunas that have cold to hot rooms you can chill at, with wine and massages and relaxing sounds. (I do this once a month) :)

If GFY or social media is stressing you out, just block it for now guys. Use the analogy of when you're trying to quit smoking. Avoid smokers. etc.

Conclusion:
Do not wait for shit to hit the fan. Pamper your mind and body at least once a month or week if you want guys! :pimp

Doubting Mr Pheers word is an un-american activity . . .

SexJoker 04-20-2020 06:57 AM

It depends on what stresses you the most, is it the current lockdown or fear of not knowing what the "normal life" will be like in a couple of weeks.

While we are closed I do a lot of exercises, I bake/cook and try to spend as much time as it possible in the fresh air (balcony/garden).
I try to avoid too many bad news, I do not watch as much news as I used to!

And at the same time I work as usual, trying to get to used to new reality.

Plus, some wine always helps :P

Nah he's right, it's the #1 rule of the Internet. I'll pull up my FTP tonight and make an upload. I wish sharing pics here was as easy as it is on Facebook. Social Media has made me lazy.

Just stay away from the Covid-19 news because it will drive you crazy. It's bad allergy season here in Jersey.. Sneezing and coughing and before ya know it, you'll think you have the virus taking your temperature every five minutes.
