Now, does THAT even make sense?
Anyone with more than 2 brain cells to rub together knows there's a big difference between government mandated 'availability' and REAL MARKET PRICE

I duno. For my country the price looks correct (a little higher than average, but something like that). The page says it's $6.23 USD for kg of beef here, which is equal to 462 rubles... In fact the average price for all the supermarket chains is 373 rubles or $5 USD: Beef prices. That for the whole Russia. In Moscow the prices are always higher.
The prices are not government mandated in Russia. But, as I said above, they are different from a chain to chain and course they are different for various types (the parts of cow they were sliced from) and sorts of it. E.g. you will pay more for Black Angus than you pay for some no name caw meat. Like here (the online shop I usually buy at): https://www.delikateska.ru/catalog/z...naya-govyadina - just divide every price by 74 and you'll get it in the $ USD.
P.S. As about India and Pakistan. Do they eat beef? :helpme
