Think I was the only Sega Mega-cd owner in my classroom at school lol.

Actually loved it at the time.

Blew me away as a kid playing that. Hadn't seen a Star Wars game quite like it on home console. The graphics at time although grainy were just mind blowing at the time.

I play a game called Red Alert, which came out in 1995 - old PC game. I play it a few times a week. It's fun... I pick a large map and max out on the computer players, and for the first twenty minutes I sweat it out as army after army attack me... Then the next twenty minutes is me puonding the snot out of them.

Ferus 04-20-2020 01:01 PM

I bought the D&D games based on the tits on the cover of the pc-game

MrBanksy 04-20-2020 02:26 PM

I recently started replaying Fire Emblem Sacred Stones and i just love the aesthetic.

Of course they are trash compared to modern graphics but they have a certain aesthetic charm.

Such a chilled soundtrack to that game. I do feel sadness when I think back to that oddly ha!

I still play "Flashback" on ps4. You can get it cheap as shit off the PS Store. That in it's day was pretty groundbreaking...

SBJ 04-21-2020 01:45 AM

I've always preferred 8 and 16-bit graphics.. Games like that are dominating on my Nintendo Switch :thumbsup

To me those graphic styles are timeless, compared to PS1 and gamecube etc, I think those games looks really shitty now :winkwink:

Agreed. I subscribe to Modern Vintage Gamer on youtube, and every time he shows a game from PS and that they all look garbage, but games from NES/SNES that are 8/16-bit always look beautiful still.

Big fan of anything Mario and my Switch is also dominated by it.

CurrentlySober 04-21-2020 10:51 AM

They were and still are 'The Shit' and I know a bit about that subject... & retro games too LOL

Heads up for you to check out 'High Score Girl' on Netflix... Not my cup of tea normally (Manga / Jap) but people told me to try it and I did. Very good tbh :)

A Super Game Boy addon for Snes would help in that aspect :)

And for the people talking about red alert, I used to play those games to death as well. Seems like they never got their groove back after they Released Red Alert Renegade, which was a FPS game not a strategy game :/

Oh shit yeah. Another one of those "groundbreaking" titles at the time.

Amazing how shit they all look now. Still good memories at the time though...

CurrentlySober 04-26-2020 01:58 PM

Spent most of the afternoon playing original Grand Turismo on PS1 along with Carmaggeddon (also on PS1) but that one was shit.

King Mark 04-26-2020 02:36 PM

My parents are gamers so I had all this shit in the house. I remember thinking this was the pinnacle of games:

If I recall well the Mega-CD was much more spicier than the Sega-CD . . .

Old flat mates worked on some popular games for PS1. I used to feed the Sabre tooth tiger from Tombraider before it became mesh and render.

You're talking about the few games that had video and some sexy scenes in it?
Trap something?
Night trap maybe?

Did you know, Night Trap is out on PS4 ??

It's been out on disk since 2017. I only found this out a week ago. There's only 5000 standard copies worldwide, and another 1 or 2 thousand copies of the special edition. Prices are high obviously, but I am gonna buy.

Amazing you mentioned Night Trap to be honest since I have spent the past few days reading up on it and trying to find the best to buy...

Yeah, some minor thing but for a kid such differences are huge.
