What can I expect from patreon?

Anyone here deal with patreon?

I'm considering setting up some borderline not-exactly porn projects. So I'm wondering what I can or can NOT get away with.

Also how trustworthy are they with personal information?

Sounds like cheap tequila

They don't give you traffic and delete adult accounts at random.

Henceforth the reason I asked what I can get away with.

It can bust passive income

I don't understand why the average GFY webmaster would be interested in something like Patreon. You can host and do the same thing yourself, cutting out the middle man. It's not like they're dumping loads of traffic onto your page.

If you don't have a legit following to bring over with you, don't expect anything.

Well, did not used it so far, so cant tell do they dump traffic or not, tho one advantage beside potencial traffic is also their brand, user might rather use patreon then doing it directly. But best is to cover all channels including direct one.

The folks I know who do it are all migrating off to their own self hosted setups. These are folks with large followings and little to none at all. They ALL thought Patreon would bring traffic to them and it hasn't worked out to expectations.

People have gotten in trouble on Patreon for content as mild as "sexualized lips" but others have gotten away with selling things which are not only explicitly adult but of questionable legality.
