Paxum UnionPay Card Fee Adjustment

Dear UnionPay Card Customers,

In recent weeks, the overwhelming majority of prepaid card cash withdrawals have involved USD currency, which has triggered system alerts because of the high volume and frequency of such transactions. In short, we must address this unusual activity.

In order to maintain the integrity of our card program, starting on May 15, 2020, all international ATM withdrawals will be charged the same 3% commission and $2 USD fee regardless of the type of currency withdrawn. We believe this modest adjustment is necessary to maintain reasonable fees for all our customers long term while continuing to allow USD cash withdrawals at a more appropriate program level.

We hope that you understand the need for the pricing adjustment mentioned above and that you’ll continue to enjoy your UnionPay Card and our other products and services offered worldwide.

Thank you.

Paxum.com Team.

How considerate . . .

The ATM's on the canary islands take 3% also, so now I'm sitting at 6% + $2 per withdrawal + shitty conversion from $ to €, sigh... :error

Where are you on the Canary's?..

So shortly after sending out cards to everyone, they change the price? What was the price previously? In any case, not fair at all and very short notice too. Feels like a bait and switch.

Regardless which e-wallet you use, expect to be screwed at any time.

Yes. 3% + $2 + exchange rate** + local ATM fees**.

** One would assume the exchange rate is tilted in their favour. Plus there is the local ATM fees.

So after May 15, I have to lose around USD29 (3%+$2+exchange rate) per withdrawal of USD385 (ATM limit per transaction). Crazy!:Oh crap

You can always opt not to use the card.
