HOT HOT - A big google core algorithm update is rolling out "TODAY" – May 4, 2020

Google’s Danny Sullivan has confirmed that a core algorithm update is rolling out TODAY – May 4,2020
As is typical with these updates, it will typically take about one to two weeks to fully roll out.

------------------------------------

We get about 80% more google traffic per hour ...

Hopefully it will stay that way or it will get even better ;-)

And what about you?

I'm sure you'll go back up. There's always temporary shuffling when these updates roll out.

I miss those times in 2008 when google algo was so stupid

Moby74 05-06-2020 04:03 AM

Noticed some drop in traffic too, however, another site in the same niche had a huge traffic boost. I have very similar SEO strategies on both websites.

Hopefully, everything will stabilize soon ;)

:Oh crap:Oh crap:Oh crap

kktsuper 05-06-2020 07:46 AM

A few of my sites dropped 10-15% in the past 2 days. Hope it's temporary.

PornMySex 05-06-2020 08:45 AM

Almost 50% loss on some sites.

BigFurry 05-06-2020 08:50 AM

Seeing a big loss too, starting today.

While some crappy site of mine got a boost.

Also seeing more tubes ranking for non-video keywords.

Hoping that the SERPS are not in the "final" state yet.

wankawonk 05-06-2020 09:00 AM

traffic more than tripled on some of my older sites

wtf....

assuming this is temporary, hoping it's not.

BigFurry 05-06-2020 09:02 AM

Linkedin main page missing from the new SERPs now... :1orglaugh

Update: never mind, looks like a fuckup from Linkedin: https://twitter.com/JohnMu/status/1258011921636302848

AzteK 05-06-2020 09:04 AM

Huge shakeups! Ugh gotta wait this out...

Do your sites that got more se traffic have ads on them? Or are you just making money from sending traffic to tubes?

I noticed sites with ads ( exoclick, adsense etc... ) lost traffic and the other sites gained traffic.

they have ads...including pops...

for all we know in two days they'll be back to normal. but right now...3x the traffic. insane. I've never seen anything like this.

BigFurry 05-06-2020 09:27 AM

Yea the crappy site that went up for me also has pops. And the clean site went down.

Question, what's the difference between those sites in terms of page speed and bounce rate?

AzteK 05-06-2020 04:46 PM

I'm seeing a complete mix up of adult and non-adult searching for porn brands.

The Porn Nerd 05-06-2020 04:50 PM

25% drop in traffic over the past 2 days.
Thanks Google!
(Oh I already said that....fuckers.)

^^ THIS ^^^ :2 cents: :thumbsup

MattGFY 05-06-2020 09:20 PM

Around four days ago, I lost all my ranking keywords, for the only site I have that's doing good. I about started to cry, lol. The next day I woke up, and everything was back to normal. Today I lost a little traffic but nothing major.

pigface 05-06-2020 11:28 PM

20 to 30% loss. Far as I can see is that brand terms are slightly affected. I have a huge drop in pornstar names and tags. I see that insta, Twitter and non adult pornstar accounts went up, also big tubes got a bonus in rankings...

Speed: same according to Google Search Console.
Bounce rate: bit worse on the "good" site (not a perfect comparison, using different tools on them)
User engagement: pages/session, visit duration a LOT better on the "good" site

I guess calling the other site crappy is misleading. It has quality content. But it's not been actively updated for years, has way lower user engagement, and popunders.

That said, seems like things improved a bit for me today. So as others said, rankings are still moving around. Fingers crossed!

j3rkules 05-07-2020 03:53 AM

Some of my sites dropped like 30% in searches, but others are up. Let's see how it will look like after the update ends.

PornMySex 05-07-2020 04:18 AM

It seems older sites are up and newer sites are down.

eliotweb 05-07-2020 05:33 AM

20-30% loss on few projects that > 1y old. hope big g will roll back.

celandina 05-07-2020 08:06 AM

No noticeable change here :2 cents:

yes I noticed this too

not just on my own sites--checking a few SERPs I see sites that used to rank 2+ years ago but lost their rankings...

there is one site that used to be HUGE and then was penalized/removed from all SERPs for years and is now back

genki__ 05-07-2020 06:07 PM

I've lost 40-50% traffic.. This sucks.

I think the update is still in progress, we'll see how it ends. It doesn't look good now, but that may change over time.

MattGFY 05-07-2020 10:11 PM

Took a bigger hit than I thought. Lost 4k visitors on one site for today.:(

jamezon 05-08-2020 05:43 AM

Same here. I got hit pretty hard. Let's hope it gets back up.

adtrafic 05-08-2020 12:15 PM

Up 30-50% in 30 domains...

Just 1 domain down 50%.

pornuploader 05-08-2020 03:54 PM

I've got around 30-40% more traffic for all domains since 4 days ago, It scares me, Because based on my experience it won't last, My domains ranking would fall off pretty soon.

247mg 05-08-2020 05:37 PM

Its hurts big time hope all settle down soon and we get back to where we were..... google dance is still going on

xxify 05-08-2020 09:51 PM

So far no change for me

The Porn Nerd 05-08-2020 10:22 PM

Last week: almost a record week in sales/revenue.
This week: absolute shit show, everything down 40%.

The Internet Giveth and The Internet Taketh Away...:(

Look Chang 05-09-2020 04:07 AM

Traffic up 25% on my sites :2 cents:

Advolk 05-09-2020 05:15 AM

Hello! Does anyone use Clodflare?
After the server load surge, traffic on my site dropped. The hosting provider recommends using services like Clodflare. Is this related to the Google Core Algorithm Update? This is the first time I have encountered such a situation.

Dreamteam 05-09-2020 05:25 AM

Guys come out of your bubble. Not everyone will recover from this shuffle.

The traffic you may have received from Google for years is not yours.

Some think that the traffic they have sometimes received from Google for years is theirs and belongs to their site by now.

Some now take it for granted that they get that traffic. They don't do anything about the site anymore nor do they provide more linkjuice. Why would they do that? Everything is perfect, right?

They now feel robbed by the sites where all that traffic goes today. Of course it is not.

And yes it hurts when you wake up one morning and find that 50% of your traffic is gone (and with it 50% of your income).

But not everyone can do well in google.

It hurts, I understand that, but that's just the way it is.

My tip: Never stop improving your site and strengthening your SEO. Never think you are already there.

Hope all turns out well for all of you

All the beste, cheers

With the details you provided it's impossible to tell, is it a new site?
The surge could be Google's crawlers, which explains the traffic drop.
Cloudflare is not related, but you should use it for sure, I use it for all my domains.

Feel free to email me or send your Skype, I'll try to help
