SEO : Do you think same author ID on multiple sites works?
Google doesn't like blog networks, but it seems having even a fictional identity with an about page on your site does help ranking. So is it a pro or con for SEO to keep the same identity for multiple sites, or would this just red flag you as running a blog network?
An example is 'the porn dude' who appears to have a number of sites all with the same 'porn dude' identity'. Doesn't seem to have done him any harm. |
to answer your question, if you want to be bullet proof for manual inspection, yes changing author id might be useful. a manual reviewer might track you down with a pattern that repeats itself. on the other side, id say: the standard google algos are not able to take author ids into account and consider this as a ranking factor.
