I had to have some bone ground off and it hurt like a mother when I woke up, but got easier.

I know it's not the same thing but if hip replacements are any indication the initial discomfort will be worth it

had both shoulders 'deboned' mid 90's, then dec '15 had the left shoulder done again, now the left shoulder is held together with teflon screws..... my right shoulder is toast. can not be fixed. this will be my 4th should repair.... saw the dr today. rotator torn so bad not fixable.(hurts like a mofo!!) had both elbows done as well, I drop stuff if I don't pay real close attention.... lost several phones before I got wise to it. yeah thinking about the hip replacements, met a few peeps that had them.... guess it will be okay... :2 cents

Nothing hurts like knees and shoulders

Breaking my knee, as painful as that was, was still less painful than waking up from the nearly 3 hour surgery to fix it.

A close friend got a shoulder replacement last year after living with constant pain. It was so bad she couldn't use a shovel or sweep with a broom.

No complications. Home from the hospital after 1 day. Best thing she's ever done.

Had a rotator tear and a tendon stapled back to the bone. It looks like I have to go back under again. It only lasted 7 years. Took over a year of rehab before I could work again:Oh crap
