Are the subways flooded? I remember the steep and deep escalators. The subways are way underground in Moscow.

Not of course. But at least one underground crossing was.



Most of Moscow subway stations in the center of the city were built during the Soviet times and they can stand a direct nuclear blast, so a flood is nothing for them. They all have hermetical massive doors.

Just BTW: Park Pobedy (Moscow Metro - Wikipedia) - this means that you go up and the ground on the escalator for 83 m (276 ft) every time you are going to enter or leave the station.
