Why did it take a year to get approved?
 

I'm just curious...

I signed up with this site 2 or 3 years ago when I started building adult sites and could only read because my account was waiting on admin approval. I waited weeks and never got approved, so I emailed the admins and never got a reply. That account still has never been approved.

Then a year ago I registered again with a different email address and username (hence the "1" in my user), and same thing. No approval, no response. I gave up on this site. Then suddenly a week ago my approval comes through out of nowhere.

What manner of deviltry is this? Uh... I mean, what gives?

We had to take a vote to see if you would be approved or not; social distancing made it difficult to vet you.

I am thinking I might want to change my vote if you are going to start off by complaining.

I don't think it's complaining to just ask. I don't really care, which is why the post starts off with "I'm just curious."

Yeah, I totally get that. Really. I have a thick skin and I can give it right back if I need to, but just because porn is a sketchy business doesn't mean it's OK to act like a jackass. I came here for help and advice to try and learn something to get a little side income stream going, and I'm all I'm getting is bad attitude and reading comprehension issues. A grand total of 1 person has actually been helpful, and the rest either don't know how to read, didn't get enough attention as a child, act like they are protecting some kind of "turf" from me, or are trying to sell me something. In some cases all of the above.

I'm a busy guy. I own a "legit" business with my wife, I have a full-time day job, I'm writing a book, I do freelance work in writing and video editing, and I'm trying to start up this business. My time IS valuable, and I came here looking to learn something but I'm starting to feel like this place may be a waste of time. I'm here to learn stuff and people want to be an asshole because I don't already know.

Bend over and let's find out.

I finally remembered it when I was cleaning out my emails and saw the voting reminder.

As for the forum, for years and years it's been plagued with trolls and people trying to disrupt the forum. Many people get banned and re-join under a new username which they then use to troll the forum again.
GFY was never run properly. Last year the main guy left and now it's kind of in limbo. I expect most people expect to wake up one morning and it to be offline.
