KYC requirement for the win

I wanted to verify one crypto wallet/trading system but KYC requirement is a bit too strange :

We'll ask you to film yourself performing 2 simple actions
One will involve speaking out loud

Since i cant speak loud had no choice but request to have account closed :upsidedow

Or maybe i should make a porn video which does have a lot of loud action and send them that :1orglaugh

Anyone else encountered silly requirements which goes beyond average stuff like ID and selfie ?

Just explain that you're a mute and this goes against said countries disability act.

That puts them in a legal pickle!

Reminds me of a T&Cs I saw back in the day in one the little scrolling box they used to have on the old enter / exit pages of websites.

Part of it said that you had to film and upload a short video of yourself, stood at your mothers grave, swearing on a stack of bibles that you are indeed an adult and able to enter an adult site!

Acquiring & using Monero (XMR) is anon. Every transaction on the XMR blockchain is private by default.

As for whats the point of crypto, I can list a few reasons:
  • hedge against every falling/failing fiat currency
  • fast & cheap payments
  • Bitcoin most secure network on the planet
  • If you hold your keys, you OWN your asset (unlike your money in bank, they own it and you use under their limits & terms)

list can go on and on, but there's a few :winkwink:
