HELP!! Australian phone call threats

I have a bit of a problem.

I have been receiving abusive and threatening phone calls from someone's mobile phone. Threats relating to my physical health.... and life. My other half has also been getting a few from the same number (at 2:30 am). We don't know the number but think they come from Perth.

It's an Australian mobile phone number. I don't know whose it is but I REALLY NEED TO! I talked to Telstra and they said to call the police. The police called the number and had to leave a message because the person didn't answer. We can't exactly get a warrant out because we don't have enough evidence or *something*.

Does anyone know of any website or phone number I can get to find out who the fuck's been calling me? :BangBang:

Thanks

fine... even though you're from a whole different continent........

"You stupid fucking bitch. Do you know what a knife feels like inside you? Do you wanna?"

Then my bf got these messages that went on for like 30 mins (the 2:30 am one) and after asking them who it was.. he said "I'm your secret admirer"... then 5 mins later... "it's James".. I don't know any fucking JAMES!!! or JIM or any fucking deviation from the word. :321GFY

BRISK 05-11-2003 11:30 PM

Didn't you say this person has left threatening messages? Isn't that enough evidence for the police to get a warrant for arrest?

Aussie 05-11-2003 11:53 PM

Change Numbers !

Get it unlisted.

There's an elecrtronic device you can buy that works great for this situation. You plug it in over the mouthpiece. When they call make absolutely sure its the guy first, then hit the button. It sends an ear drum bursting electronic blast over the phone line that will fuck up the guys hearing permanently.

I had a problem with a harrasing abusive caller long ago and got one of these phone blasters. Only had to use it once and he never called again.

Thats fucking fantastic ! Problem is I would be tempted to use it on people I don't like. Might get myself into trouble.

The cops should be able to do more. record one of the messages, then write down every sinlge time they call. The cops should then go to the callers telco and they will get the info on who owns it. assuming it's not a pre-paid or something like that which don't reuire "ownership."

if somebody signed a contract for that phone, the cops will trace it. They won't give you the info as that is a privacy concern - well, it is in NZ anyway - but they will deal with the problem.

My ex and I had a similar problem with a landline years back - not as extreme as your calls I'll admit. But, we didn't have caller ID, but we just wrote down every single time a call was made to us and then the cops went to telecom and got the call logs.

They dealt with the problem.

But you guys in NZ have a decent phone system. The system here in Aus is a fucking joke. The US uses Newzealand to try out all their new phone and telecom technology before they implement it in the US.

um, I believe that used to be the case, but I don't think they do any more. Telecom NZ uses very VERY old NEAX exchanges - 61E's.

I can't speak for Telstra here in NZ, but I work for NEC which provides Telecom's infrastructure.

We have less money than any other country to spend on communications and Telecom haven't upgraded any switches in the last 20 years..

HEARTBREAKER 07-30-2003 08:03 PM

maybe somebody's following you or has been observing you for a while....

Telstra have a department which deals with unwanted calls. If Telstra will not help you then contact the TIO at www.tio.com.au
