A friend of mine died from COVID-19
 

A friend of mine just died from COVID-19. On July 26th he wasn't feelling good, and two days later he was exhausted, unable to breathe, and went to the hospital. Two days later he was dead.

Another friend of mine also isn't feeling well and went for a COVID-19 test. It's been six days and she is still waiting on her results....

This is starting to hit close to home.

Meanwhile, I haven't seen any of my friends or family in six months.

Oh wow that sucks man! So sorry to hear that! Here in New York I personally know 4 people who have died from Covid-19. Two were over 70 but two were in their thirties!

And six days is WAY too long to get a test result back. America does NOT have its' shit together.

It seems like two years ago.

Since the governor in California ordered the lock down we've pretty much been staying at home, venturing out only for shopping, food, work, or when we absolutely had to (Wife's car battery died, for example). I did get together for my local charity group to produce a short video (we all wore masks until we went on camera) and another charity event (where we all wore masks).

In the United States this is just not stopping. Yesterday there was yet another small rally in Sacramento, only fifty or so people, and none of them wore masks.

Lost a good friend who was only a couple years older than me from college in early april from when the first wave hit the bronx :(

sorry for your loss. I've known 4 people that have died from it including a great uncle.

This is troubling times and I hope we make it out better people.

So, it hasn't been 6 months?

A neighbor that I grew up with died last month. He was 44 years old with no underlying health issues. He visited his mom in a nursing home that has had 28 deaths so far.

People are taking chances when going out without protection.

The weird part is... the people that die... the funeral coordinator pics them up (while wearing hazmat gear) and then you just never see them again. There may be a memorial service within a couple of weeks, but there won't be an open casket or visitation.

Meanwhile first responders just threw a huge party of 100 to 150 in Los Angeles with no masks and no social distancing.

In attendance were the same cops who hand out $300 tickets to citizens for not wearing a mask.

1. You are a creep. You haven't had one successful business in this industry ever, yet took the time to go to dozens of conventions to seek out young naked girls to take pictures with. All the "businesses" you've pretended were real businesses were basically zero barrier to entry businesses (requiring zero startup money to start, since you're a failure and probably don't know what that term means). Probably just as a cover to go to conventions to get near naked girls.

2. You're like 70+ but were looking for roommates to share your crackshack rent with you. Weird since I thought you ran a successful "seo hosting company" previously... whatever that means. Or wait, was it a successful "adult promo company" aka a direct knockoff and failed version of fubar webmasters

3. You've cruised along trying to play like you're some big bad biker who was connected to a bunch of 1% MC clubs. Worked on a lot of the idiots here who don't know any better, but for people who do... we know they wouldn't be caught dead associating with you because of my next point

4. One of your close friends was (maybe still is?) a CONVICTED PEDOPHILE. Sure makes point #1 a little more interesting. What's more interesting is that I didn't see you ONCE denounce him or say anything negative about him during that entire ordeal. For someone with as big of a mouth as yours why didn't you have anything to say?

Maybe you're right about his decorum in this situation. When the OP is talking about a friend passing away.

But why don't you also call out the people who are doing something similar - albeit in a different way? Who are using the OP's story and thread to criticize those who don't share their same viewpoint on the virus? They are taking the sad news and using it as a justification to express their political views and displeasure at those who don't share it.

If you're gonna call people out, call them all out. Else you are guilty by association.

If I was going to call out every idiot here who treats Republican vs Democrat like the NFL, posting here would be a full time job.

My wife and me having some similar symptoms (twice since January). We both cough, sweat, I have cold sores on my lips (have never had that shit for 20 years). Not funny at all, but shit happens...

That is just batshit crazy...

None of the first responders I know or have interacted with in the last 5 months seem very concerned.

That includes two nurses.

I have a family member who works in a nursing home where they had a huge outbreak in April. Most residents got it and most of the staff too. Most were asymptomatic.

None of the nurses and other employees freaked out then, and they still don't seem to care now.

When they go to the store and people recognize them as nurses they (other customers) all freak out. The nurses have a good laugh at them on their lunch break.

I get this totally.

And if it was the reverse you'd have to switch the networks around. It's nuts.

I'm sorry for your loss. I've decided to homeschool my little ones as both my parents are over 70 and have underlying health conditions. It's going to be a long year but I feel like I made the right decision.

The problem with Covid is if you recover there is weakness plus no taste or smell feeling.

I have a friend who got Covid. Right now, he is alright, but hasn't got any sense of smell till now plus there is weakness.

My sister is doing the same. It must be very hard for you. Taking care of parent, handling children, plus teaching them.

Very sorry to hear that. I haven't personally known anyone who had covid let alone die from it. I saw my parents for the first time since christmas last week. They are in their 70's so I worry about them but they live in a rural area with little to no cases. The kids and wife have been at home with me all day every day since mid March. Some days are fun and others are horrible. We are supposed to send the kids to school in September but I am pretty worried about it. We don't have the time or patience to home school them..we tried with the work they sent in the last few months of school but it didn't go very well.

Fatality rate is too low for me to personally take it more seriously than necessary, I do use common sense when I move around outside but that's it.

Antibiotic resistance is much much worse than covid-19 will ever be yet not getting a fraction of corona's media coverage.
