'Dungeons & Dragons' Tries To Banish Racist Stereotypes

In my non-politically correct childhood they would classify IQ scores below 70 as Morons, Imbeciles, and Idiots: Moron was 51 to 70 - Imbecile was 25 to 50 - Idiot was 0 to 25

So let me say congratulations to the modern era's average person... You just graduated from Moron to Imbecile.
Keep up the good work and you'll soon make it to Idiot.

The classic role playing game's publisher, Wizards of the Coast, recently announced some changes it was making to the game in response to the ongoing protests over racism and police violence. While this includes editing some past racist descriptions, as well as adding more diverse writers, the game's designers are also making a fundamental change to the way certain playable characters are portrayed.

When you play Dungeons and Dragons — usually referred to as D&D -- one of the first steps is to create a character. They can be a human or an elf or a gnome or some other mythical creature. These classifications each come with their own backstories, as well as their own baggage. While it's generally up to you if your character is good or evil or somewhere in between, historically some of these characters were depicted in a villainous, monstrous light. Orcs were brutish savages. Drow (dark elves that live underground) were dark skinned and inherently evil.

They should just make a new character race called "Mocha" and it won't have any special abilities or skill modifiers. It can run around crying about everything and never engage in combat unless it has a huge outnumbering advantage. The rest of the time it can sit around just being boring, and none of the other character races will really like it but they will tolerate it because they will get a guilt disadvantage if they don't.

I was just wondering the other day if I should buy a Player's Handbook and introduce D&D to my kids [10 and 13] and their buddies. I wish I have the time to figure out if I am able to be a good DM as an adult.
I loved playing AD&D [3rd and 4th gen] with pen and paper and dices when I was 10-17 and played all the PC games like Champions of Krynn..
I feel old..

Go ahead...if you want to turn your kids into bullied nerds that don't get laid until they're in their mid-twenties.
