Does anyone know how far you can go with porn using them?..

I have a collection of ultra niche porn and thought it might be an idea to build a community around it - The T&Cs around adult are ambiguous at best and I have seen some HC stuff so not sure.....

Anyone using them?..

I wouldn't touch them with a sixty foot pole if you do adult.

Those types of mainstream companies that kinda-sorta allow it seem to have rules that change as they see fit. Why not just make a paysite for the content and promote that way?

Patreon allows nudity in an artistic way. Late 2019 they did a purge of all THOT accounts as they called it, it was big. Many rivaled it to the removal of NSFW by Tumblr.

They have also openly stated that they will review your content outside of their network. For example, posting tame photos on Patreon while you operate a Porn site outside will get you banned.

I would equate it to the way IG allows fine art nude, but not pornstars posting nude.

Patreon is capricious and inconsistent in enforcement.

I have no idea why billers like CCBill and Epoch don't address the unfairness of Patreon getting better rates while processing for sex work.

In my experience, unlike other crowdfunding platforms, Patreon also gives you none of their traffic.

So the value proposition is easy posting and lower processing costs than 3rd party billers but higher rates than own merchant account. And constant risk of having your content and subscriber base deleted and no additional traffic.

OK - That idea is out then - It was meant to be a half day set and forget thing - I'm really into the idea of making it a full site project...

Patreon most likely has mainstream CC processing so they're losing out way less than the 15% or so adult billers take. The flip side is they always have to walk an extremely fine line when it comes to adult-oriented content.

They are HUGE! Lots of employees also!

I believe you are correct, but they are processing for much of the same content as on membership sites. Seems like someone with Visa's ear should point out how unjust it is for them to have mainstream %.

They wouldn't hear you over all the money Patreon is making compared to significantly smaller and explicitly adult paysites. We gotta take what we get, unfortunately.

By the way, let us know if their system works well. I'm interested in using them for a project as well. Looks like a perfect solution for micro payment subscriptions.
They also have an API postback, so you can link the payments to your own website's user database.

My content is fairly tame, mostly just simple nudity and I've been using Patreon for about 3 years now without any issues.
