The pumps and filters alone are more then 3k

sonofsam 08-29-2020 07:32 PM

I'm looking into a salt water pool, as I've been told it's better but have no idea why

Grapesoda 08-29-2020 08:04 PM

Prefer salt water myself

I do not know about the filters and stuff but I am building things out of styrofoam blocks and pouring in concrete its amazingly cheap to build...keep in mind this is isolated from both sides, and you just call a truck to pour in the concrete...my indoor pool will be around 1000$ to pour and maybe another 500$ for some impregnated concrete finish...you stack the molds as lego bricks....3 of them is 1m2...

I have a salt water pool, it's great. All computer controlled, I literally do not have to do a single thing other then rinse the sand filter once a week and clean out the skimmers of mice that drowned.

So when stuff like that happens how do you sanitize the pool? Stuff like dead mice

Since you're not using chlorine tablets etc?

this, we built a pool in a home over in the UK and it cost about 10 grand, that was fibre glassed over the concrete and it had jets in it like a jacuzzi... :thumbsup

salt water is cleaning all the time...

although, the best for pools is baquacil, chlorine free, it makes for the best in pool sanitizing, however, itīs dearer than chlorine, but worth it...

https://www.baquacil.com/products/faq

no taste, no bleaching, just clean fresh swimming water

Besides the fact that the salt kills bacteria etc but basically you dump a bunch of salt tablets in, I don't remember how much because my pool guy does it - probably around 100kg - and when the water goes through the filters/whole system there is this system in there that converts the salt to chlorine *as needed* and another thing that pumps in this shit to keep the pH correct.

Don't do the cheap fiberglass inserts, after about 3-4 years they look like shit. The blue color fades and they start having little microcracks. My friend did his pool at around 1/4th the cost of mine and it looks like shit, the water is nasty and he has to balance the chems all the time.

Mine all said and done was around 45k euro or so with all the ground work, the concrete foundation under the pool, the sliding aluminum pool cover, the tiles around the pool, the pumps, computer, endless pool pump thing, labour etc.

Guys from Donbass made a pool in the cellar of a village house for less than $3 USD (215 rubles) in the cellar of a village house which includes a water price and a price for natural gas to heat it up in January.

and now with an electric bath...

:helpme

The salt water pool cell generates chlorine from the salt...you don't add chlorine tables because that's why you have the salt for. You can still use pool shock just like you would if you used chlorine tablets.
