COVID-19 Affects Soda Stock

I’m trying to order diet Sprite, Sprite Zero or diet 7-Up online. Amazon, Walmart and Target are out of stock.

There is a shortage of diet soda due to the pandemic. They are claiming that the artificial sweetener is produced in China and they can’t get it.

One vendor wanted $21.99 for a twelve pack plus $24.99 shipping. Four bucks for a can of soda. They have it available but the price is outrageous.

I never knew that Aspartame was from China.

Where I am diet Root Beer is an impossible luxury. Sells right out.

I’m quarantined and can’t get out to the store. The local supermarket has stock and they are high-priced but the little stores are selling out quickly.

I drink sugar free iced tea and it’s been hard to find. My Mio and Cirkul stock is dwindling down.

Just another casualty of the pandemic.

Amazon had it for $9.99/six-pack for diet A&W root beer. Walmart is $35 minimum for shipped orders.

Haven’t read anything about Diet Coke or Diet Pepsi yet.

You're better off without sodas . . .

Helix 09-06-2020 06:38 PM

If you must have soda drink the ones with real sugar. The artificial sugars are poison.

In Holland hash from Marocco is harder to get due to corona. But there is Nederweed from Holland.

I would imagine that's the middle men artificially inflating prices.

My close friend owns a small ranch with about 400 head of cattle. He couldn't get rid of a good heffer for $500 right now if he wanted to, but this time last year it would've lasted about 10 minutes at auction and gone for $1200 easily.

Yet beef prices are up..

Not everyone can have sugar.

Think of it as an opportunity to rid your life of that less-than-ideal beverage. Or garbage, if you will. :winkwink:

Cant speak to aspartame from China but there is a nationwide aluminum shortage. A lot of companies are focused on core flavors

I only have a can or two a week. Usually drink sugarfree iced tea or water with Mio. Cirkul drinks are good but I didn’t buy any for a while.

I’m trying to drink more because my blood pressure is 100/50 and the doctor said that I had to drink more. I’m drinking iced tea as I type this.

I found Zevia sugafree soda and ordered it. Next Monday is delivery date.

Sugar kills you and sugar substitutes kill you. Food is bad! 🤪

More people are staying home, eating out less, and it's leading to shortages with soda. Ice cream too.

I know that the supermarket was out of most veggies and fruits recently. Canned coffee and creamer were low and other food was low in stock.

I don’t eat much so this isn’t affecting me. The weight loss continues!

Its not just the sugar issue. Its also the factories being shut down or partially and needed to produce what sells the most. The lower sales items will have to wait.

The fact that Aspartame is produced in China is news to me.

So many other food products are made outside the USA and importing them now is risky.

First it was hoarding, now product shortages.
