Would you/are you confident enough to book a vacation for NEXT Summer ??

I think i'll pass for now... :2 cents:

:Oh crap:Oh crap

No, but we bought an RV this past year because we had to cancel a big family cruise. We've taken to that so much that that is what is on tap for next year now as well. Our spot for next year is already secured and paid for.

So I guess we're booked...but not really what most people would consider "vacation". I've enjoyed spending my summer working in the woods. :1orglaugh

Mark the dates in your calendar and that's it.

COVID19 is far from over. Not only are there ongoing physical health concerns , but there are going to be monetary concerns as well. If you prepay any part of your trip now, you have no assurance that the company will not of filed for bankruptcy before you head out. Even if you were to purchase travel insurance, there are no guarantees that the policy underwriter doesn't go belly up.

Deals are to be found, in good times and in bad. Be patient. :2 cents::2 cents:

Nope, but I'm not an early booker anyway :)

kane 09-09-2020 02:45 PM

I would only do so if I could reserve it, but pay later (or put down a refundable deposit). I wouldn't plunk down the full amount now and just hope I could go next summer.

I think once the air traffic starts going batshit crazy everything will just fall apart again.

Can imagine daily flights from India, Brasil, Spain bringing all sorts. And the same goes for outward flights of course...

Tasty1 09-09-2020 03:00 PM

Next summer? Still must decide where i go end of october. The options so far are; by car to Croatia or Uk for 3 months and than canary islands 3 months. Or take a flight to cancun and stay in Playa del Carmen / Holbox/ Isla Mujeres for 6 months.

6 more weeks to decide, maybe more opens up. I always book at the last moment. I would only book with airlines that are already supported by governments. Many failed already before corona...

Rochard 09-09-2020 04:07 PM

Nope. We have no plans at all. We'll cross that bridge once it's safe.

Smack dat 09-09-2020 04:12 PM

I think this is still just the start. Give it another 6 months and see how shit the world is.

Take the UK off your list. Now.

baddog 09-09-2020 05:03 PM

I am not leaving the country so no need to book anything. If Ireland became an option, I would go.

Matyko 09-09-2020 11:00 PM

Of course, why not?

Wasn't looking forward to that either. Only place that is open and has good climate from november is Mexico. And one of the easiest countries to get a 6 month visa.

adamneve 09-10-2020 07:13 AM

with so much Uncertainty with the virus, a real vacation is still far away

sandman! 09-10-2020 07:17 AM

i would no problem.

MakeMeGrrrrowl 09-10-2020 07:30 PM

Just got back from Maine, headed out again in October to SC.

Wouldn't book as far in advance as summer unless it was 100% refundable.

bronco67 09-10-2020 08:02 PM

No.

And if Trump is re-elected, you can be assured that we will be living in a pandemic (vaccine or not) for the next decade. Actually, if we go on like this for another year we'll be living in a Mad Max movie.

NETbilling 09-10-2020 11:54 PM

We have already been in 2 vacations with a Cabo trip coming in December, Punta Mita in Feb and a cruise booked next summer in Alaska.

yuu.design 09-11-2020 02:55 PM

Not for now, but will not wait for so long after my country approve the travels

BaldBastard 09-11-2020 11:19 PM

I was booked for Thailand in February, changed it to Nov and have now changed to Nov 2021 sighs.

Meanwhile there's a heap of nice places in my State that I've been going away for weekenders at.. with everyone else.

Get out and explore your own countries, support your local tourism industry as much as you can.

ANAL PASTE 09-12-2020 03:25 AM

I am waiting for Cayman Islands to open up and I am out of here.
