Ohhhhhhhhh, the pool was for WorldMeter???? I thought we were on John's Hopkins, so I had Sept. 19 @ 12:45 PM PST

Well, live and learn (at least for us, not for the 200,000 Americans can't do that anymore because some idiots refuse to wear masks)

Almost everyone here is wearing masks - you rarely see someone in a store without one, everyone here is washing hands. When entering stores you are supposed to wear gloves or disinfect your hands. Every store has to provide disinfectant on the entrance. I always wear mask at store, disinfect my hands immediately when getting back to the car with alcohol and wash my hands with soap when I get home.

Yet despite all this - I just spent the last 4 days on the toilet with a stomach flu, my friend has a cold and stuffy nose and his wife had a very short cold (and they are even more careful then we are)

A lady in my village has a positive covid result but her kids and husband are negative. Someone will infect me walking past me in a store with no mask but people living in the same household even sleeping with each other don't get infected from each other? For all we know covid is exactly as prevalent in poland as it is in the US and we're just testing far less.

I think the masks aren't making all that much difference to be honest. People are biting their nails then entering pin codes on the card readers when shopping, touching products etc. You then enter your pin, grab your car keys, touch your steering wheel, etc... I think mandatory hand washing and disinfecting would probably do more then those masks. Hard to protest hand washing too...

Well, one of the key problems what i see how most of people have cotton masks - and they have no use to protect, only to prevent spread. And those things what you mentioned as well . There was once video posted how they did it in one Chinese city, and they have tons of procedures which none of EU country are doing it.

That's because your vitamin D3 status will do more to protect you from rhinoviruses (flu) and corona viruses than a mask. Keeping it above 40ng/ml is a good call for a strong immune system.
90% of all people who live North of Rome are deficient in vitamin D3 (below 40). It's pretty obvious considering that we wear clothes and stay inside all the time.

Vitamin D3 is cheap!

This is insane. Imagine most of this could have been prevented if the President stood up and said "Wear a mask".

Finley 09-16-2020 11:08 AM

@Screwed Up
Good info , Can zinc supplement help like D3 ?

I am going to start keeping track and see how early your first stupid comment of the day comes.

Great start. (10:41 AM)

Am I wrong? I simple thing like Trump encouraging people to wear masks instead of us going four months with people debating if masks work or if masks cause oxygen issues could have saved god only knows how many lives.

Today we had over 2,000 new cases:

Paraphrasing the PM Babis:

" There is NO problem, mortality is low"
" Only young people get it and the disease is not serious, is mostly asymptomatic"
" Masks not need to be worn outside"
" Tracing is only needed, if somebody has serious symptoms"
" WHO has NO business advising us, they do not know any better"
" We cannot shut down economy, but bars will close at midnight"
" One way of limiting transmission in bars and restaurants is to lower the level of music"

He also refused to re instate the " Covid emergency task force" and instead leaving all advice to be given by bureaucrats he can manipulate, NOT independent experts....

... I could go on and on, but why ? He is a crook and thief and political hack, just like Trumpy :2 cents:

Well, not much can be done at this point so it makes no difference.

I wish he did because you people would have been instantly anti-mask...and you know it.

NatalieK 09-17-2020 04:59 PM

Where I live it was zero covid for months now, since June, Spain had new cases down to 50 to 100 for weeks...

and now weīre back up to 10k a day and in my area 100 a day, they opened the gates to the UK and other European countries.

No problem with visitors, holiday makers and people visiting the country, itīs good for the economy. But wear your masks and keep your distance after getting a covid test before flying or travelling, thank you!!!!!

thanks

FYI, the official number today is less than 200k, more like 197k.

Why do you have to inflate the numbers?

And they would have been unavailable to first responders because people would horde them more than they did.

https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/us/

That is the source I have been using since a month or so into this shit. CDC numbers lag behind. Worldometers collects the data from various sources that they list if you drill down. Very transparent.

Most references to counts are using Worldometers or John Hopkins numbers as far as I have seen.

Right now, the CDC Provisional death count is only updated through September 12 it says 185k On the CDC page it states:

Quote:

*Data during this period are incomplete because of the lag in time between when the death occurred and when the death certificate is completed, submitted to NCHS and processed for reporting purposes. This delay can range from 1 week to 8 weeks or more, depending on the jurisdiction and cause of death.
So, the source I use is more real time. Doesn't mean that is isn't accurate.

.

" One way of limiting transmission in bars and restaurants is to lower the level of music" -this made me chuckle. Is that like people won't dance with each other and so won't infect each other?

Agreed. Today over 3,000 new cases . # 3 in Europe (behind Spain and France). A few more days and we'll have the "yellow jersey" :2 cents::1orglaugh:error

Are you still isolated in house ?

Screwed Up 09-18-2020 02:32 PM

If masks work so well and you're afraid, just wear 2 masks.
At least that way I can continue walking around without a mask. God forbid, I get a tan line on my face.
Free the nipple and free the nose!

BaldBastard 09-18-2020 03:00 PM

State I live in Aus (NSW, New South Wales) had 10 new cases in past day only 1 of those an unknown source

State of Victoria where they have the enforced lock down here, they've gone from 800 a day down to 40, lock down started on 16 August coming out of that slowly now as numbers are at manageable levels. Victoria has shown that lock downs certainly work faster than any thing, but its got to be an all in effort by the whole community.

China and their Asian neighbours have basically eradicated Covid and are back at full production, competing countries that have not managed to get Covid numbers low have zero chance returning to pre Covid profit levels until they do.

Except going to Macro or ( neighborhood Billa) and going for almost daily walks with my wife in Prague's Dendrological Gardens, where there is almost nobody since you have to pay to get it and NO dogs allowed, yes basically staying put.

Will need to switch ( post Covid of course) location. The Prague city hall fucks closed my casino ( right next to UNO) a destination after each UNO meeting ( and there were many over the years). So no desire going to Palladium:2 cents:

Just had lunch in restaurant opposite UNO, Mongolian BBQ . They increased price of pizza in uno anyway, it was 169 czk before, now it's 175 :1orglaugh

A Its all fake politically induced news and stats. Watch after election three things will happen
1- vaccine will magically be there
2- treatment will magically be available
3 - Covid will magically vanish

And if you're a looter or a rioter , national guard and or military will handle your ass relentlessly

After Covid my offer stands :thumbsup

FYI: My UNO pizza was always over 250 since I always ordered: Quattro formagi with double cheeses PLUS ham, pepperoni, mushrooms, anchovies and salami... Then it is a good pizza. The next best one is at Kogo Na Prikope. They always roll their eyes when I order it and call for Gods help in Serbo-Croatian, but they deliver .
