Our heart goes out to Janie and the family today, who loved him very much.

I worked for him briefly. He headhunted me from AVN for SLLAB. It wasn't the best of times, but I will miss him. I often think of him playing piano as Sherry and I danced in his living room. It's been a long time since we talked.

Janie was good for him. I'm convinced of it. He looked better and happier. I'll miss you Eddie.

So hard to pick a favorite... Love the 1st 2 albums, but also love later songs like Mean Street and Unchained. 1984 was huge on my life as well. Didn't really listen or care for the stuff after OU812. It seemed to lose some of that "fire" and became more formulaic sounding imo

Women and Children First was probably their first album I bought before getting the rest through Columbia House lol

Spent a lot of time just looking at the album sleeve photos. Epitome of the term "rock star"

And yet Sammy Hagar still lives...:(

Sammy tried many times over the years to patch things up between him and Eddie, but Eddie was the smaller person and would just ignore him. And now it's too late.

Thats cause the band had Eddie's name on it. Sammy had awesome pipes imho

Very true. Sammy is a cool guy tho I prefer the Dave years. They tried to do a reunion Tour together a few years back that was apparently a disaster. LOL

I was sad to hear this news. I only saw them in concert once but it was an amazing show Van Halen's Monsters of Rock tour.

His voice wasn't that great. Most of the backup vocals came from Michael Anthony, their long-time bass player that they fired for being friends with Sammy Hagar and performing with him at a Nascar race.

They really weren't great people.

Come on man, we all make mistakes. I made mistakes too and couldnt play the guitar that well to make up for it.
