GrapeSoda, memory tells me your out of Southern California. When you need OEM parts, cheap, then use LMIAutoParts, and have then deliver (FREE) them to your mechanic. They have several routes that cover most of Southern California daily. I know they really don't like retail customers, but they have sold to me before. I just needed to scan my ID and front/back of the card being used, and email it to their accountant/billing/controller.

Another way to save money, is look for the interchangeable part #s, whereas an older model MB uses the identical part of a newer model. Same f*****g part but with a different number, can cause the price to increase or decrease 50-100%.

I guess so. Why would you want to work on a car like that? How would you work on a car like that. Especially with the equipment needed to deal with computer and everything else?

sonofsam 10-10-2020 03:12 PM

If your car is 2018 you don't have to worry about repairs until 2023

Regular maintenance is fine. You can prepay for 3 services at a time, and you end up saving money on them also. Last time I did it, one of the services alone covered the cost of the 3 service package.

FCP Euro may not have the lowest prices, but they do offer a lifetime replacement guarantee on parts for European cars including items like brake pads, gaskets, filters and belts.

You do realize that email can be intercepted, right?

Thanks for the lead on FCP Euro. I certainly will compare prices later this week, as I need some maintenance parts for one of the cars. Likely I am part of a small % of people, who tend to hold on to all their cars, for decades. Lifetime warranties are great, as long as the company stays in business, and the hassle/costs of returning parts is not so expensive.

Yes, I am aware of the security risk, which also includes someone on the receiving end taking the information and using it fraudulently. That is why I black out various sections of information on the ID and bank card. Providing a scan is to show a match between name on the card and person placing the order, and to suggest the card is in hand.

What cars do you have? I wont be able to afford the AMG S63, pretty sure I will get a used CT6V. I wanted the corvette z06, '17-'19 depending but the cabin is too loud with road noise.

How dare you ask about the s63 and then say you're going to get the CT6V !

A Mazda Miata probably takes curves better than both those thing. S63 and CT6 are completely different classes of cars imo. S63 is a luxury car that is still fun to drive, and has an unmatched sound.

I may be biased though as I've never liked domestic cars. The new corvette looks pretty cool though

Grapesoda 10-12-2020 06:16 PM

I've had both a corvette and a cts v, the ct6 drives amazing. Just needed more power

2 fastest cars I've seen in the twistys are Volo wagons and small pickups.

Get juiced up e450 twin turbo with AMG parts. Brand new with extended warranty. Add maintenance plan so you don't have to worry about paying it later. Give it to your kids as graduation present 3 years later. Buy new car.
I'll race you ;)

2 expensive, going with the ct6v...... 550hp and 640fpt. Only made for 2 years. Limited numbers. Plus I've driven the ct6 for 2 years. Best car I ever drove. Reviews say the AMG is a great car to go somewhere in but if you want to take a drive the ct6v is the way to go. Plus I've had 4 caddys already. I'm used to them

Never owned a Cadillac in my life but its on my bucket list.

Grapesoda 10-13-2020 08:50 PM

the interior is not as nice as a Mercedes, not as solid. Doors dont shut like a German car or feel as solid. The electronics are there and the mechanics. The ct6 was the most amazing car I ever drove. I would race up and down mollholland, I could feel the computer's pushing the power around the AWD. The the highway felt like the car was on a train track or ocean liner... very stable.

I really wish I could get the AMG, out of my price range, then again I've always been happy with the caddies
