Photographers: What camera set up do you recommend for ...?

Partner is interested in picking up photography as a hobby. Taking pictures of family, friends, nature, buildings, etc.

What camera set up do you recommend I buy them? And why that one over others that may be suggested? Thanks.

Big personal preference I think here. I'm a Nikon girl and so I have nothing to compare it to.

The cannon T7 is a good camera.

I just purchased this one Cannon 90 for my farmworker who is a budding photographer. It's an upgrade from her cannon rebel T1 I think.

How complicated a camera do they want and what sort of budget? For higher end cameras the future is probably mirrorless (Canon R line, Nikon Z line, Sony A7 / A9 lines). There is a pretty nice Canon RP kit with a 24-105 zoom available for $1000, which is a good deal for full frame mirrorless with a decent lens.

For the constructive responses, thank you. Budget is between 500-1500 USD. I'm looking for value in the purchase I make. What are your thoughts on the Nikon 7500:

The 420-800 telephoto lens and 2 adapter lenses are probably pretty worthless. Be sure to check the seller's reputation, a lot of camera dealers quote lowball prices then either claim something is out of stock and try to get you to accept a "better" thing (which isn't better), or say the listed price is for an international model and one with a US warranty is $$$ more, etc. Check out the big photo dealers like Adorama, BH photo, if the price is way less there is probably some scamming going on.

Fuji X-T3
Since new firmware update it has nearly similar fast autofocus compared to the new x-t4.
Itīs the best camera i ever had so far.

One thing mirrorless offers over something like a T7 is a much better focusing system (more accurate, able to focus anywhere in the frame instead of the center, and the ability to automatically find and focus on the subject's eyes).

Thanks everyone for the continued responses. For the time being, I am now now focused on purchasing the Nikon D7500 or it's mirrorless counterpart, the Z50. Will be reading the online reviews and comparisons on these two.

What are your thoughts specifically to these two models?

Second, there is quite a upfront savings if purchasing the international/import model. Some retailers appear to offer their own 1 year warranty. What are your thoughts on the upfront savings vs the fact that manufacturer warranty in the US is zero, and there will be some out of pocket expense for servicing at a private service facility.

Again thanks in advance.

I've never needed camera warranty service in 30 years. Supposedly Nikon USA will not service international models at all even if you offer to pay, Canon is supposedly more liberal (will service items if you pay) - this info may be outdated. Z50 got a great review by Jared Polin on youtube.

Nikon won't service grey market items. Any modern camera your buddy gets will be fine.

I would try for full frame though.... rest your eyes
