PornHub Releases MAJOR Changes - MUST READ.
Most notable among many massive changes:
1. Verified Uploaders Only Effective immediately, only content partners and people within the Model Program will be able to upload content to Pornhub. In the new year, we will implement a verification process so that any user can upload content upon successful completion of identification protocol. 2. Banning Downloads Effective immediately, we have removed the ability for users to download content from Pornhub, with the exception of paid downloads within the verified Model Program. In tandem with our fingerprinting technology, this will mitigate the ability for content already removed from the platform to be able to return. 1 - If they didn't, they would be shut down/cut off by the processors.. So its about time
2 - It will open the market for new illegal sites, so the surfers will just find new ways as they usually do |

PornHub is the Jedi compared to many of their competitors and were being picked on because they are the biggest tube site in the eyes of the public
The issue has not been with PH it is with other tubes, we will see if any of them make the same changes, or perhaps PornHub will work with Visa and Mastercard and the force the others to see the light :) |
TGP2 phasing in
|
Hopefully Visa and MasterCard apply more pressure, so that Pornhub's next step is deleting all the uploads by non-verified users.

Banning downloads :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

And xhamster, xvideos, youporn etc? Will they follow?
|
Sooner or later every single website will be treated like a normal publisher, and held responsible for their content, as they should be. This wild west nonsense will end eventually.
|
nice, this is good news :pimp

If they are after the biggest tube and Pornhub almost overnight make these sudden and major changes, then the rest will surely follow and not risk losing their income. |

They've been getting a lot of negative press from mainstream media lately, so I guess it makes sense. Less pirated crap like full videos is always a good thing. :thumbsup
|
Now the next step - which would seriously reduce the ability for videos to be re-uploaded once taken down - is to stream ONLY in lesser quality (480p) so if someone screen captures the video the quality is too shitty to re-upload. Even if a video is in 4K or HD originally it should still be reduced in quality.
Want HD? Pay. Want 4K? Pay. Want free? Get shitty quality. Screen capture HD in Premium? Should be easier to spot those re-uploads. Either way great job Pornhub!! |
Great news! :thumbsup

Exactly.. and in EU they will actually get bitch-slapped with "Article 13" https://www.article13.org/ Both Xhamster and Xvideos are European companies, so they will naturally have to do the same as PH since that is the only effective way to prevent illegal uploads. |

"Our policy is to immediately disable any content reported in the Content Removal Request Form for review."
This plus the inability for non-verified users from uploading now should make it easy to ensure things that are not supposed to be on PH stay off it. I've been saying for awhile that at the very least, tube sites should restrict non-verified/non-channel users from uploading more than 10 minutes and don’t even index that content. I’m glad PH did this and my money’s on other big tube sites doing similar things soon. Smaller tubes may bury their heads in the sand, but at end of the day, if it becomes harder for casual users to find illicitly uploaded content, that’s a win for all of us. |

good news :)

I'm sure I don't have to ask this, but we all saw the NY Times articles that prompted this, did we not? If even some of the allegations therein are true, heads should roll at Pornhub and each of the major tubes should be subject to scrutiny until they verify all publishers to make absolutely certain nothing like this happens again. I add this because it appears some may be under the impression that this is just a business decision.
Pornhub implements new rules as backlash intensifies over sex trafficking concerns |
great news!

What I do hope comes from this is the reduction in illegal contents on all tubes due to age or consent. |
Good news.

Read what Europe is doing https://www.article13.org/best-of
The measures are very good but very late. The excuse of publishers was always we aren't able to verify the content being uploaded, but look at th profits they make. Billions would make one think they canafford to monitor every upload somehow but choose not to. |
