TMD Hosting - Site not loading - Need Cloudfare???
So found out that my website isn't loading correctly. I contacted TMD Hosting support and they basically tell me I need to sign up for a cloudfare account.. What gives?? Anyone else with this problem?
|
I would recommend asking them for more information as to why they want you to set up Cloudflare, but my guess would be that your site is getting attacked.

Define correctly...
Two things i can think about: speed or some sort of ddos protection |
Are you using shared hosting ?
|
That makes no sense at all.
|
Wordpress? Using their wordpress hosting?
|
I was using TMD shared (Web Hosting) BUSINESS plan. When my site reached 500+ visitors day, it stopped working and i got email that i exceed CPU milliseconds.
So moved for same price to Contabo powerful VPS. |
I have EU dedicated servers with TMD.
They had domain expiration issues for Cpanel/WHM due to Brexit changes that took effect on January 1. As today, it's been fixed on my side. Using Cloudflare was the only way to keep websites online when they were dealing with the issue. For people who are wondering, TMD is very good. Underrated in my opinion. I get a best custom offer than Mojohost or others on Dedicated Servers+Cloud Storage. |
They disappointed me when my site gone down on 500 daily traffic. Of course, it was shared hosting, but expensive one.
This way many hosting providers cheating their users to buy more expensive hosting plans. |

I dont think people expect much on shared hosting. But I don't think 500 daily traffic is much. But maybe his site is resource intensive.

Yep, sounds like you have been hit by an attack and they're going the path of least resistance. Noone will be doing DDOS mitigation for you on a shared plan. If you're open to upgrading to a VPS - we have some great plans and the network is secured against DDOS. Reach out please and let me make an offer for you.

Most businesses consider 10% to be a healthy profit margin, but so many adult affiliates don't want to pay more than 1% of their income on good hosting, even though it would probably at least double their sales in the long run. |
