UK-Based Porn Site
 

Hey Guys,

New around here - first of all hello! Second of all, I hope this thread is allowed/is in the right place.

I'm based in the UK and am currently building a niche porn site. I didn't go into this blindly, I've worked in web development for many years and have some other sites (non-porn) up and running. In terms of porn specifically, I've done a lot of research into DMCA/2257 requirements etc - but was wondering if there was anything UK or EU specific I would need to bear in mind for running a porn site based here? I've searched a lot for anything UK-specific outside of 2257 but can't seem to find anything.

Any pointers would be appreciated!

Besides DMCA, in EU/UK the same as for mainstream sites -> GDPR, also CCPA if you target US customers.

Nothing at the moment, but the 'Online Harms Bill' might present problems when it comes to pass.

I guess it doesn't apply to you if you're building a pay site, but in the UK, as an affiliate you're supposed to clearly state that you are an affiliate marketer and provide details about yourself. The UK advertising standards authority have gone after webmasters for that, although I'm not sure they would bother with adult niche sites to check the integrity of your reviews of piss porn movies or whatever.
