Anyone taken the vaccine yet?

It still isn't widely available in the US. I'll get it maybe in April or May, after the more at risk people.

Pink24 01-23-2021 07:44 PM

There is no way I or any of my family will get that shit.

shake 01-23-2021 08:12 PM

Yes, now my arm won't stop beeping...

ilnjscb 01-23-2021 10:33 PM

You probably won't be able to fly then

But you can control the TV without a remote at least, no? :winkwink:

klinton 01-24-2021 02:02 AM

Yes.
I already have the yearly subscription for the whole packet.

It's difficult to live without vaccine, we must take it and finally feel safe.

Thank god that it was created so fast.

Science is wonderful, now the gates to quick vaccines are open wide.

My Neighbour - Has had the first dose of the Pfizer Vax. I drove her to the apoontment about 2 weeks ago.

abshard 01-24-2021 05:40 AM

My wife got her 2nd dose a few days ago. She had a fever for 2-3 days. Chills, body aches, joint pain. Tonight was the first night without a fever. The first dose only injection site pain. It was the Pfizer one.

Darkcrni 01-24-2021 09:03 AM

Great guys! Go and put that shit inside your body.
I got the feeling that gfy is going to be less crowded in years to come.

Shoplifter 01-24-2021 01:21 PM

Wife had 1 shot of the Pfizer. No problems.

I've heard the second shot is the one with the reaction.

Fever started about 2 hours after the shot

kane 01-24-2021 03:19 PM

My mom is 80 and lives in a retirement community. She has gotten the vaccine. She said in both cases she was a little cold for a few hours after the shot, but other than that no issues.

HairyChick 01-24-2021 03:56 PM

My mom is nearly 86 and her doctor said not to get it yet. I refused the vaccine until more testing is done. Too many bad reactions to it.

I'm getting my first shot of the Moderna vaccine Wednesday. My wife got her second shot of the Pfizer vaccine a week ago Friday. She had no reaction whatsoever. Better living through chemistry!

adultchatpay 01-25-2021 12:08 AM

if i have the opportunity, then yes.

Konda 01-25-2021 01:46 AM

The country I live 25% already got vaccinated. It's free here for everyone.
I didn't go yet because I still have antibodies from when I had covid. Will probably take it in 2 months or so.

When more and more people get the second one, we will see a lot more negative reactions. Allergic reaction very often does not occur until the second exposure to an allergen...

S3X_Jay 01-25-2021 06:29 AM

My husband got the first shot of the Moderna vaccine maybe 10 days ago. He didn't even feel the actual shot. But the next day he had a little injection site soreness. A bunch of other people we know have also gotten Moderna. The worst reaction was swollen lymph nodes.

For those of you who are refusing it – thank you! It means I can get it sooner!

Israel? It's only 25% because you're not counting (or giving the vaccine) to the Palestinians in the Occupied Territories. If you counted them your percentage would be lower. And it's notable that you guys are getting the top-shelf mRNA vaccines while the Occupied Territories will have to settle for Russian vaccines. [Leaving it at "just the facts" so I don't get political – wrong forum section for political commentary.]

ilnjscb 01-25-2021 11:42 AM

I might go for the moderna then when it becomes available - we are on just healthcare workers now

hdbuilder 01-25-2021 02:52 PM

I'll get it when i can, for now its pretty much just for the vulnerable clientele

Pfizer and Moderna are clients. I've been on calls with stakeholders from both companies who've made comments or have joked that they aren't going to be taking their vaccine. That tells me all I need to know. :1orglaugh

You are the stupid one sir,

I have had Covid twice. As has my wife, our two children, my mother in law, my sister and her son.

We are all fine. We all got similar symptoms.

Aching bones, loss of smell and taste and a mild dry cough.

Symptoms lasted no more than a wee.

Stop spreading lies and disease dickhead!

You stated you weren't tested for COVID-19. Are you now stating you were tested? Maybe it's you spreading lies and disease. Dickhead. In my opinion, if you are stupid enough to catch COVID-19 twice and your entire family gets infected, it would seem you are as dumb as a sack of rocks and dangerous as well.

I got my first vaccine shot this morning. It was from Pfizer instead of Moderna. The hospital is using both, depending on supply. My arm is about as sore as when I get a flu shot, plus I'm slightly tired. Other than that, will get the second shot in 3 weeks. Everybody there was very upbeat and excited to get the vaccine including the hospital staff. This virus is nasty as hell. Sure some get it and have no symptoms, but some die and others' health is fucked for years. This is a no-brainer.

Thanks for posting this, very informative. Please report how you feel after the second dose.

I understand people are afraid. I am a little myself, but these pandemics will not go away. Even though this is a new type of vaccination, we need to go forward with this methodology so we can refine it.

If the methodology needs to be refined, then it's not yet ready for use on humans :thumbsup

No need to get one since I already had covid as well as my family and have a bunch of antibodies or am I missing out on something?

You think vaccine is made for covid????
What are you 2 year old???

No buddy COVID was made so that fucking idiots can go and get
vaccine. And from that point everything will start going to hell.
Just give it a few years.

You should be fine for 6 months, unless your antibodies level is on zero . There is a test which tells you how many antibodies you have.

Yup, done that. So 3 weeks after I had it, the number was 9,96

That's an odd statement since millions of humans have gotten the shot and there have only been a few problems.

Natural antibodies from having had COVID do NOT work against some of the newer variants. I know this is the case with the South African variant, possibly others. SO… If one of the new variant starts making inroads where you live, try to get vaccinated since the antibodies created by the vaccine DO work against the new variants (so far).

What they're seeing is that the immune response from natural antibodies is rather limited unless you had a severe case of COVID. So eventually you'll want to get the vaccine to have better antibodies that work better. But for now at least you've got some protection.
