hosting dropped
i have a few hosting spaces and when i do not re-new the usual email shows up 'if you wish to continue with your hosting package , you have 30 days or everything will be wiped'
you usually do not hear from them except for spam for newer better packages i recently dropped a hosting company and every day since a demand for payment with 10 plus extra emails from the ceo demanding payment, has something changed can they take me to court? |
Do you owe them money?
|
If the terms/contract states it auto-renews, then you need to cancel the subscription - you cant just "leave"
|
I would not be too concerned if the "CEO" is sending you emails. When their lawyer does, then you can worry.

Read their TOS next time.

just ignore them. They will cut off your hosting space sooner or later. Most will do so after a week or two, others may play the game for a year ... possibly all this is on autopilot without a human looking at your account or correspondence.

Most hosts don't expect any greater commitment from you than they would give to you, which is quite limited. They're a webhost for fuck's sake, not a landlord. |
I have hosting with Namecheap. They sent me a notice to renew. I am not renewing and I don't feel like I have an obligation to notify them either. I've not seen too many hosting contracts on auto-renew unless I opted for it. The same with Performive, when my hosting expires I have no obligations. What you seem to be talking about is some kind of contract and just because terms of service says that it does not obligate you to do shit. Do you have a signed contract by both parties, if not, fuck em and feed em beans?

To the OP, I think maybe notifying them you're canceling may be a good idea. They may be thinking they're doing you a favor for extending the service and not taking you offline, so a bit of communication may resolve the problem. |
Better hope they don't show up at your door with Guido en tow..
