Affiliate Programs

I’ve been seeing lots of complaints about affiliate programs not paying or paying less for the affiliates of adult websites.

I just signed up for a mainstream affiliate program. Most of the sites pay 25% for sales. This one pays two percent of the sales for new websites and five percent for established websites.

Unless I do thousands of dollars per month in sales, I just can’t meet the minimum payout of $100. I have about forty affiliate programs for advertising on my website.

I emailed them and said to remove my account. 2%. Ha!

Many affiliate programs for mainstream require you to upload videos to Instagram and have five thousand followers. The newbie can’t get ahead unless they spam like hell.

The times are a-changing’.

What exactly is the product?

Adult is mostly digital with high margins due to relatively fixed expenses, allowing for higher payouts. The few mainstream digital products that I have looked at offer nice payouts as well (similar scenarios.)

The "low" payouts tend to be for products or services with much smaller margins, in my experience anyway.

Technically it’s a health product. But their website offers more than that. Some products are fitness products but I haven’t looked at them to know exactly what they are. I’m focused on specific things rather than anything that they sell. Easier for my target audience.

I understand that physical products are more expensive than digital products. But two percent is just laughable. Five percent is not much better with a higher payout threshold.

Fortunately there’s plenty of products to sell from other affiliate programs.

CASHINPILLS

EASYPROFITS

give 30-40% from sale....

2% per sale in mainstream?

Puh, that is more than low - you will find tons of other affiliate programs that pay you way more, especially in the area of health products.

Without knowing the origin of your traffic or country I suggest to register e.g. at CJ or if you do not want to handle the advertisers at all Skimlinks.

food products, especially vegan, have become very big for affiliate product selling, however, the mark up is tiny compared to say a product such as a fitness machine. Therefore, they can only pay 2% on sale, however, once you have a sale, you´ll find that traffic continues to purchase more foods and products, it´s a continuous sale :thumbsup

I dumped them fast. It’s not a specific health product but that is the better description for the general public.

Traffic is mostly USA based. CJ didn’t have any advertisers that fit my mold. I’ll check skimlinks, thanks.

I’m about to dump Amazon products. Another program that pays well for affiliates can replace them. Their rules are too rigid.

That 2% sounds like Amazon prices to me. LOL What a joke!

Jägermeister 02-15-2021 11:45 PM

The Worst thing about Amazon is the lower commission for indirect sales + cookie validity of only 24h. This way promoting is in many cases pretty tough.

If you use Skimlinks one more advice - many times they tell you that their programs are affiliated, but they aren't. So before using a link of a new advertiser, check if they are really affiliated (Check cookies and or redirection)
