Chaturbate API Version 1 - No end of life date planned.

In several different threads people have raiised the question of when Chaturbate will turn off version 1 of the API.

I sent a note to support asking them about it and here is what they had to say:

So, it would appear that there is no planned end-of-life date for Version 1 of the API, or at least not at this time.

That's good to know, although I suppose migrating to v2.0 sooner than later is a good idea.

2 sucks ass. 1 with blocked countries, states, worked so much better and had so much more useful data.

I think I am just going to leave the ones I have running version 1 alone.

Playing with pulling V2 via javascript. Might do 1 or 2 using V2 and php just for the hell of it.

The blocked countries field has always been blank for me :( What other data is in V1 that is not in V2? I did not notice a whole lot of difference on the data part.

Version 1 data compared to version 2 data

I see that the recorded field is left off of the Version 2.

I checked my database and right now of the 7,963 cams online, 1260 have recorded blank and 6703 have it as false. So it appears that that field does not really mean anything any more. I think I used ot see some trues in there, I have a filter in my original implementation that definitely looks at the recorded field.

So, other than that and the blocked from countries and states, which I have nevver seen data in, the outputs appear identical.
