Yes - many ways to do it. Most of the lowtech companies use Android Emulators, the better organized use autonomic solution running on actual phone with complete profiles to simulate actual human beings.
Companies like Tinder have finally found out they need to clean that shit up - trustpilot started about a year ago, and Facebook will do it when the business-case tell them its the best option.
On the black market you can buy access to thousands of those shadowprofiles and use them for almost anything - from writing stupid facebook comments and likes, to publishing medium.com articles.
