do you wear a mask when driving your car

with no passengers.... I see that a lot out here on the freeway... weird

AnimeFevers 02-24-2021 08:59 PM

Are you talking about taxi drivers? No one drives their cars alone with a mask on, seems weird.

fuzebox 02-25-2021 12:02 AM

I see it a lot here as well, I assume that employers may require it for workplace safety/liability and employees are complying.

The other theory is that someone may not take it off if they haven't washed their hands or sanitized their environment.

Mr Pheer 02-25-2021 12:54 AM

Sometimes I do. If I just came out of one store and I'm driving to another one right down the road, it's easier to just leave it on instead of take it off, drive, put it back on, or forget to put it back on...

Plus it's my car, I can do what I want in it. :jerkoff

Makes sense. Plus it is not hygienic to put it in your pocket, then cover your mouth and nose, even tho that is what I am doing :1orglaugh

I don't wear it anywhere where is not written "no entry w/o a mask" or "we don't serve people w/o a mask". And course I don't wear it on the street.

Nope in your country you can't even drink alcohol inside when you are just a passenger. E.g. your wife drives and you're just relaxing and drinking. In your country you even can't have sex in your own car. So a vision of "I can do what I want" is a bit different for free America and for suppressed Russia :upsidedow

No, we can do anything we want. My stepdad used to drive down the road while drinking beer out of a can. I've had sex in my car many times, though mostly when I was a teen at the XXX drive in. But everybody was having sex in their cars.

Now if you get caught doing some things you could get in legal trouble. But you can still do it.

leming 02-25-2021 02:46 AM

I've seen some guys wearing masks in cars without any passengers.
Nothing serious, just a bit of panic )

Biggie Smalls Web Writing 02-25-2021 02:49 AM

It's ridiculous to wear a mask while driving in the car

CurrentlySober 02-25-2021 02:56 AM

Of course I do? Why wouldn't I? Its basic Safety...

I also wear a condom in bed each night while I sleep alone... :2 cents:

You can't afford to buy a condom.

Den BongaCash 02-25-2021 03:17 AM

I don't wear a mask in my car. When in the taxi, then, of course.

Scott McD 02-25-2021 03:43 AM

In the car ? Nope...

When I posted my comments, I was talking about the thing you can do legally. Here in Russia you can't legally drink while driving. I'll tell you more, the rules about DUI here is much more severe than in the USA. For example, we have no a minimum Promille. If you will be caught even with a molecule of alcohol in your blood, get ready to pay a huge fine and say goodbye to your driver's license for 3 years... But, when I'm a passenger, I can click beer through a door glass with cops in a nearby car :winkwink:

I know... :(

Luckily I can usually find a used one in the alley round the back of my flats, so that's usually good for a week or so...

But in reality, it makes perfect sense. If I wear a mask, alone, in my car, there's ZERO chance of my catching covid - And at night, alone, Zero chance of me getting anyone pregnant....

Like they say - Follow the science... :2 cents:

SekobA 02-25-2021 10:41 AM

No i always put down.. No need to wear it if you drive alone.. Wearng a mask will indicate so many problems in few years from now

NatalieK 02-25-2021 11:03 AM

some people leave the home and just wear their mask, better than forgetting it.

also, if you´re driving your car, here in Spain, window open, you´re driving past people walking or other cars driving, best to wear them really...

if you can smell a cigarette or a vape from someone 10 foot away, you can breathe their germs too :2 cents:

mechanicvirus 02-25-2021 11:07 AM

I always wear my mask in the car, gotta stay moisturized.

Alex BongaCash 02-25-2021 11:26 AM

Well, sometimes I forgot to take it off after shopping :disgust
Usually I see only taxi workers or food couriers in masks while driving

ruff 02-25-2021 12:31 PM

Not while driving, but I do if I'm going thru the drive-thru at McD's. Big Mac please, no pickles, no Covid. Thx.

Pink24 02-25-2021 12:40 PM

I'm not sure how you can forget to take it off. You're not glasses wearers for sure.

True that! Science for the win. Also, there are much worse things than catching covid, so just be happy :pimp

Look Chang 02-25-2021 06:49 PM

I always wear a mask while driving so other people don't see my smile when I'm laughing at them... :stoned

Sly 02-25-2021 06:59 PM

I live on the 4th floor of a building and like to sit on the balcony and enjoy the sun in the afternoon. I often see people walk below me, in what's basically a private driveway and very little foot traffic, wearing masks.

I think it's a habit for many at this point. It's on because you were at a store or whatever, you don't mind that much wearing it, why bother taking it off and then putting it back on?

adultchatpay 02-25-2021 08:19 PM

Alone = no
With wife/kids = no
with other people = YES!

Lexi BongaCash 02-26-2021 07:21 AM

I guess those drivers just forgot to take off or were on the way to uber client

theS2O 02-26-2021 07:57 AM

Nope I don't wear them. But it's actually a law here where you should still wear a mask even if you're alone in the car... :Oh crap :helpme

Totally agree, in summer it was a nightmare.
On the contrary, there were several times this winter when I put the mask on not for safety, but for warmth when it was freezing outside :eek7

DownThePoole 03-08-2021 02:55 AM

taxi drivers wear , but i think all drivers need to wear .

Denny 03-08-2021 07:21 AM

Only if I'm driving a short route with a few stops (shops etc.) so I don't have to touch it every time.

Tell me have you been fined for this or a cop has stop you while driving?

Thats the one that gets me

Rochard 03-08-2021 11:20 AM

You have no idea why people are wearing masks. Maybe they are an Uber driver and are between passengers. If that is the case I would wear a mask too. They are in a tight space with strangers and just because they get out doesn't mean the car isn't infected infected.

Or... Maybe they are driving to pick someone up who isn't part of their "circle" and don't want to potentially infect their car before their friend or whatever is getting into the car.

Sometimes... If stops are close together I don't bother to take off my mask. When I go to the bank I tend to go to the gas station and get a Red Bull.... Not much sense taking off my mask for sixty seconds.
