I know quite a few people are hosting at OVH in France...

Looks like one location completely lost (30k servers) another one damaged.. (12k servers) crazy..

If done right, customers servers could be up and running within minutes somewhere else, if the network is done right

I have a few with them but in Roubaix , but if not mistaken all OVH traffic goes through Strasbourg node

Just checked with support and USA/ Europe node is in Gravelines so all is ok for now, but people using imagify should have problems. all their servers are gone.

They say (on their forum) that those with servers in the location, have had their servers removed from the control panel. Can anyone with servers at OVH confirm that?

Firefighters were immediately on the scene but could not control the fire in SBG2.

Looking at photos of the datacenter I think the plan was in case of fire push the containers into the Rhine :1orglaugh

In all seriousness though, there must have been 42k or so servers lost + cabling, hardware, routers, switches, and the building itself. I think 150-250mil easy.

The thing about a fire at OVH is that is primarily going to affect the little guys and I am extremely sympathetic to my fellow hustlers.

If this had been an AWS data center it would be front page on CNN.

Nothing to worry about, the insurance will cover everything. (Except the time webmasters will spend looking for new hosting.)

I guess i'm pretty lucky having a second server with same content running in Canada.
Ordered a new one in Roubaix this time.
Unless Canada gets nuked in the next few days while i'm copying stuff, i'm safe...
Meanwhile routed all europeans on holiday to Canada.
