Why xhmaster deleted Section of Stories although they have in 8 Languages and stories help xhmaster?

Pretty wired why do they delete stories without any warning?

j3rkules 03-17-2021 09:57 AM

It is theirs site, so they can make changes if they wanted to.

:winkwink:

Its poeple stories written during Years :)
so they don t have right to remove it
at least they should informed owner of stories of thier decesion and give them time to store them or back up them somewhere else not NEXT DAY ALL Stories disppeared.

Very very stupid decesion which they don t reveal why?

coder and programmer know perfectly role of stories in items or ranking up site and make it famous

First, I'm sure their ToS allows them to do whatever they want with that content.

Second, I'll bet a lot of that content was questionable if not borderline illegal and they probably decided it was best to just get rid of it at a time when all eyes are on them.

Ironically there aren't many genuine legality issues with prose stories; obscenity is pretty much the only legal hook, and it's been many decades since anybody was successfully prosecuted for a textual obscenity in the USA.

That said, the timing is instructive. Pornhub got its billing taken away just a couple weeks before the xHamster stories went poof. And whatever you love or hate about Pornhub, the method by which they got attacked was not lost on other porn webmasters. Basically some anti-porn weirdos researched up the worst content they could find in a huge database of content, then turned it over to some pet media people for a coordinated attack of entirely-phony breathless dismay, noisy enough to get some attention at Visa and Mastercard.

It doesn't take a business genius to see that happen, look around at your own site, and ask "what's the worst shit on here that could let them do that to me?" Precisely because stories are pretty much "anything goes" from a legal perspective, it's no surprise when the Magic 8-Ball comes back with "Nuke your stories" every time you peer into the little window.

OP, If you really want to know why XHamster did that, then why don't you just ask them?

In their forum they were asked why the stories were taken down. This is what they said:

Quote:

I contacted xHamster yesterday, asking about the stories section. They replied, "While running an additional review of our internal moderation processes, we’ve decided to close the Stories section and its upload to make sure that xHamster provides a safe and pleasant experience.
That is from a month ago, so the stories section disappearing is not something new.

As far as having time to back them up, why wouldn't a content creator already have a back up of something they submitted?

.

I DOubt them have many languages and they been online from back 2002.
They removed stories without mintues while most writter and proporties of those stories wanted thier stories back.

I conacted and they replied its our decesion and everything is deleted :warning

Welcome to the internet. When you agree to their terms to use their platform, you abide by THEIR rules. Not rules you make up yourself because its convenient to you.

It sucks that it happened to you, but let this be a lesson to never rely on a 3rd-party platform to store all your stuff for free. Make backups and always prepare for the worst.

They don't owe you anything.

G'day guys,

They have a blog post thingy now which is where I post my stories, not as good as the previous version.

It was just one of about 10 sites I submit stories to.

Have you tried looking in the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine?

https://web.archive.org/web/20201221...er.com/stories

They never have everything but a lot of times you can recover a ton of stuff from deleted websites this way. Good luck!

If you are submitting your story to a site, why are you not keeping a copy on your own computer?

Yes, for those who want to fly under the radar and skirt the law.

'Joe Smoe' however, who might pull out his visa card from time to time for a sneaky camgirl session, some premium custom content, or even a monthly porn site subscription, is NOT gonna fuck around learning bitcoin, just so that he can do so. He will just go elsewhere, or go to a free pirated content site and not bother to pay at all...

That's not a win/win - its a lose/lose... :2 cents:
