Buying traffic to a free site, bad idea?
Thinking of buying some traffic to a free site we are starting, maybe get some interaction and gain users
Has anyone tried something like this before? Is there any benefit? Basically, do you think any good at all can be gained from this? How much does our budget need to be for this to make a difference? If the only replies are going to be people shilling their affiliate links, could you at least include some answers/info in your reply? Thank you to anyone who can help with some insights :helpme |
Just make sure you put it to good use, watch what visitors are doing and increase time on site and conversions to your paid offers.

At least I am glad you do not think this is hopeless |
One of the oldest strategies online. :)

I'd buy hardlinks instead of traffic.

Buying traffic in general is a very niche/expert thing. You can blow through, on average, 20K while you search for that profitable balance between cost, offer, etc.
Not knowing what this free site of yours is - is it simply a lander that moves the surfer onto the offer/main site or is it intended to be the actual sales page? - it's hard to set a budget or even expectations. But if it is a tube site, a porn list, something that a surfer would bookmark and be unaware of without the traffic re-direct then you might get some traction there. How long term is your strategy for the site? Are you looking for an immediate ROI or looking to build bookmarkers/visitors over time? All these things need to be considered. :) Great good luck!! |
Maybe if you tell us more about your site we can give you a better advice

If you have experience with this, how long did it take backlinks to bring tangible results when it comes to organic traffic? |

The site is mostly a lander that we hope will move the visitor into a premium site(s) where sales will be handled. It is a gallery site with some videos, and we are looking to build some user interaction (likes, comments, etc.) Definitely looking for a long-term strategy (months to years if need be), because we are looking to invest a lot of resources into it and want to succeed for as long as possible regardless of the wait. Thanks again, I really appreciate your help. Wishing you the best of luck in your endeavours as well. |
